...Hi, I was on business trip in Asia and the last place I would inhabit before getting back to the good old UK was Mumbai, now I had been through a hectic journey across China and Japan, and I wanted to make my last stay memorable at least significantly. I decided to try out this well reputed Indian 5 star recommended by a friend, now my previous experience in Mumbai was pretty good staying at hotels like The Taj, Oberois and Marriot (the best in India) so this had better live up to the expectation, I wasn’t disappointed. After checking in I immediately stopped at a restaurant in the hotel called Society, continental cuisine, and was delighted with the food, the Spaghetti Flamboyè was just awesome and so was the garlic bread and the wine. Advantages: Free Transfer from Colombo Intl. Airport to Lanka Oberoi Hotel
Disadvantages: hmmm, have to think about that one.

...I have recently booked a ticket through Apple Air LTD. (www.applegrp.com) Their office is located in a small building in Hammersmith and I was served by some very friendly faces. I think they deal mostly in flights to Sri Lanka but I think they have services worldwide. I haven't had any trouble with them, and I have been booking with them for a long time. They deal in flights to destinations worldwide, crusises etc. all the works and also, they offer Wedding Organising aboard. They also offer FREE transfer from the Colombo International Airport to the Lanka Oberoi Hotel, Colombo as they have a cab service in London and Colombo (applecars). It helps a lot, especially if you travel to Sri Lanka a lot. ...is the Cecil Oberoi Resort, one of the Oberoi groups premium luxury resorts. This is pricey by Indian standards, but from what I understand, it's not that bad in foreign exchange terms. The hotel is charming, with wooden floors and comfy chairs. The rooms were nicely sized, well appointed, and featured a full bath. So far as I could tell, each room was done up slightly differently, giving it a cozy feel. The hotel also features a full workout room and a sauna. My memory fails me as to whether or not there was a pool. In terms of meals, we ate at the hotel restaurant, which featured a nice variety of Indian and continental dishes, and the food, while not five star cuisine, was quite tasty. In terms of my general experience, the Oberoi group is the best when it comes to cooking amongst Indian hotelier groups... Read review
