Yesterday I went to see Phantom of the opera, and it was so good that i am still gobsmacked now. After seeing the film starring gerard butler, i couldnt imagine how it would be portrayed on a stage.
We managed to get 2nd row tickets, right in the middle! It was truly an amazing show. I cant review it to its full potential without giving away the surprises that it holds. You will have to go and experience it for yourselves!!
But one thing I will say is that at the begining when they 'illuminate' the chandelier, it felt as if it were a metre above my head when it rose to the ceiling.
The actors and actresses are truly superb, and also the costumes, set designs and special effects are outstanding!! There was a boat and candles rising out of mist- just like the film!!!
I especially loved the way how the audience was slightly involved. Such as it gives us the feeling of being behind the stage curtains.
The live music was absolutly fantastic, and I would definatley go again!
The ticket price was £39.50 from www.discounttheatre.com and we managed to get stalls row c. But i can imagine that any seat would be just as good!
The theatre has a good system which allows you to order and pay for drinks before the show. Then at the intermission your drinks are on a table for you. Feels like VIP treatment.
Programmes were only £3.50!
