After seeing Andrew Loydd Webbers classic Phantom of the Opera Musical, i'm still blown away and would love to go and see it again. If your looking for an outing with the family, with older children, teenagers (as a 3 hour long musical would likely bore a 6 year old) then this is the place to go. I'm only sixteen and went to see the musical with my aunt, all I can say is its outstanding. The scenery, the music, the actors and actresses and the very talented singers. The musical is just breath taking, I can promise you, you will not be disappointed by this one.
The Musical Itself
The musical is about an opera house in France, which is the home of a Phantom. The phantom falls in loves with a young women Christine, who used to be a very shy person. Under the influence of her teacher (the phantom) Christine improves rapidly on her singing and overcomes her stage fears, to become the lead in the new musical held at the theatre. But one person gets stands between the phantom and his dream of happyness with Christine, Raoul. After realising what has been going out, Raoul convinces Christine to run away together, but the Phantom over hears. Does he kill Raoul? Do they run away? Does Christine stay with the Phantom? Does the phantom die? Is Christine killed by accident in a fight between the Phantom and Eric. I won't say because its unfair if I tell you everything about the musical.
Prices and nearest transport Tickets cost on average £45 for a ticket, it is in the end worth it. The musical takes place in Her Majesty's Theatre, Haymarket, London. The theatre is easy to get to, the nearst tube being Piccadily Circus or station being Charing Cross.
Conclusion
I do reccomend to everyone and anyone, the effects with the chandelier and the powerful organ giving you butterflys in your stomach everytime you hear that famous main theme is just amazing. If you thought the film was good, then wait to you see this. don't miss out in this 20 year running musical.
