Went to see this piece of entertainment in Bradford in the Alhambra. With phantom and was pleasantly surprised due to the fact that I'm not really into musicals but got dragged along by the other half. I've been to see Les Mis and wasn't very impressed with that so was a bit sick at the thought of going to see this musical.
The one thing that I was taken a back with was the scenery and the production of the whole thing.
The boat ride through the candles and the singing on the catwalk was breathtaking. The chandelier when it came crashing down was a bit surprising and some people in the audience attempted to jump out of their seats!
There were also moments when the phantom would appear from nowhere and surprise the audience which was quite special.
The one thing that lets it down is the singing performed by the actual drama group in the musical which is awful and uninspiring.
Overall it was thoroughly entertaining

Advantages: A night of theatrical magic - immerse yourself. Disadvantages: None I can think of - the experience is worth the face value of the top priced seats.
