Advantages: Sipping cocktails watching the sun go down Disadvantages: Balcony too high up for me to appreciate
...The Diaz Strand Hotel is one of those 4 star hotels which really deserve a 5 star rating. Located right on the beach at MossellBay just a short drive from the town centre and local attractions. We stayed for 2 nights on our way back to Cape Town.
As you drive up to the hotel you first find out that the car park is for residents only and is secured by guards who check you in and out. The reception desk is manned by polite and courteous staff who know the area well and are happy to suggest where to eat, what to see etc.
Our room which was huge and had two king sized beds, mini bar, small sofa, satellite tv, air conditioning. The porter who sorted out our bags was friendly yet discrete. The bathroom was enormous and had twin sinks, separate bath and shower and the toiletries were not only very high class but replenished every day...

Advantages: Plenty to see, low prices, fantastic choide Disadvantages: Can be costly in peak travel periods
...way to see what Cape Town has to offer and the quickest and easiest way is via cable car and it is just a 15 minute drive from the city centre. This was the first sight seeing tour that we booked and we were certainly not disappointed as our tour guide pointed out the many sights that we could see during our trip, however Table Mountain can be hit or miss you really need to go on good day or your view will be impaired.
The Table Mountain website is ideal for daily forecasts and prices, the site will also advise if the cable car is closed due to any bad weather.
2. Victoria and Alfred Waterfront
When planning our visit to Cape Town we had decided to split our accommodation finishing with a few nights on the Waterfront staying at the Table BayHotel.
The V&A Waterfront as it is more affectionately known is located between Table Mountain...

Advantages: Quiet and secluded, Good Hotels and good food. Disadvantages: Not for the clubbers
...If you thought that Ibiza was all booze and clubbing and not for you then you might just be pleasantly suprised. Last year I spent a week at the Hotel Club Galleon in Port Saint Miguel. It is one of the less well known resorts nestling in a small secluded bay in the North West of the island. There are only three hotels in the resort of which provide a number of joint facilities, although each provides its own pool and restaurant. The Club Galleon affords excellent scenic both to the sea and across the bay from its vantage point high on the steep sided cliffs. Its position also makes it the quietest of the resorts hotels, although this is not one of those all night disco places. There is also an excellent retaurant (not attached to any hotel) specializing in sea food at reasonable prices. The main beach is clean and sandy with all...

I stayed at this hotel for one week in July 2005. It was brilliant. The hotel looked classy from the inside and out, and was only a short way from the shops and restaurants in Paphos.
Check In: I arrived at this hotel with 2 other family members, it... more
