The above sounds brilliant for what one would want in a hotel. I stayed there a few weeks ago, and I was very impressed as soon as i saw where i was staying.

- A 4 star hotel - Opened in 1937 - 8 floors, about 200 rooms - Situated in the centre of Leeds - right next to the train station, so no worries if you arrive by train. right next to the shopping, clubbing areas. in fact, one of leeds' best clubs is right opposite! The airpost is less than 15 miles away, if your coming by plane!
My experience:
First of all, this hotel is easy to get to, as described above. checking in was easy, i booked over the phone. Even from the outside, i was impressed, and the inside ground reception was very elegant as well. The staff were polite, and i had no problems with them at all. The room: The rooms are massive, with huge windows and bathrooms, that have speakers in them so you can hear the tv. I had no problems with hygiene or cleanliness. However, the actual decor in the rooms was a bit wierd! A not very flattering dark musky green curtains looked very old style. Not the modern look that i would prefer, but thats just me! the bed was large and adequate, but again, the colour of covers were not very flattering. Am i just being picky? the other down side is the price, with rooms costing over £100 a night, unless you can find a last minute deal. hmmm, but what do you expect for a 4 star in the city centre? The restaurant on the ground floor (No1 City Square) is large and classy. food was nice. In the evening, it got very busy, lots of people mulling around, ready to go out, and in the day, conferences get held at the hotel.
Overall, its in an awesome location, massive hotel, very nice and comfortable. I dont know though, it is a very classy hotel, all you could ask for, but in my view, a bit pricy, and not as modern. i understand that it may be undergoing come refurbishment, so watch this space. Thanks for reading
Advantages: Location, location, location Disadvantages: Popular if Leeds United are at home on a Saturday
The Queens Hotel Leeds is ideally located for anyone visiting the city centre ... no more than 10 minutes off the M62 in the heart of the city centre, situated outside and to the front of Leeds mainline railway station. There are ample car parks nearby, with only a short distance to walk with your luggage. Alternatviely, you can request that the conceirge, of this full service 4-star hotel, provide a valet service (at a charge of £5-£10).
The hotel ... ...proudly in the city's centre since it ws built in the 1930's. It is a traditional hotel in so much as it is very spacious inside, but has recently undergone a major refurbsihment, bringing a very fresh and modern feel to the grand old lady.
I don't really like to give an indication of what you would be expected to pay per room per night, as hotel rates vary in cost like airline seats these days, depednent upon availability, day of the week and seasonality, ...

Advantages: excellent services comfortable rooms and great location. Disadvantages: Too high prices
Queens hotel is one of the best hotels in Leeds and also the oldest hotel in Leeds. After the refurbishment that took place a couple of years ago the Queens hotel now has 217 rooms. The rooms are really good and comfortable and the quality of service provided is excellent. The rooms are well furnished and also very comfortable. The rooms can cost about £100 pounds per night unless you get a last minute deal on sundays especially when the hotel is ... ...in the heart of the city right next to the train station and a few mins away from the Leeds Bradford airport. The main plus point of the hotel is the location of the hotel. There is a newly refurbished restaurant in the basement of the hotel. The Queens grill restaurant was refurbished just about 9 months ago. The menu and the quality of the food served in the restaurant is excellent. There is also Queens bar right next to the reception. The hotel ...

Advantages: Large quiet rooms, in centre of Leeds Disadvantages: Resatuarant and room cleaning could be improved
Art deco luxury in the centre of Leeds at The Queens. Opened in 1937 this attractive white building situated next to the mainline rail station straddles its access road. In front is Leeds Plaza, the regenererated pedestrian shopping precinct.
One advantage of older hotels are their bigger rooms with high ceilings and solid walls providing sound insulation. My room had an entrance foyer with a modern bathroom off one side, and another solid lockable door led to the bed room. Its fitted with all you'd expect (TV with cable and computer games, minibar, desk, coffee table with armchairs, two large wardrobes, kettle with tea and coffee.
I was pleased with lined curtains that blocked all light and much sound. The windows were double glazed and could be opened.
The bathroom had a full complement of towels on a towel warmer and good ...
Advantages: Good Choice of establishments Disadvantages: None !
The boom in business in Leeds has led to a massive investment in local Hotels, For a weekend clubbing in Leeds don't be dissuaded from calling some of the larger hotels for a weekend rate, most of their business revolves around business visitors during the week, so can often give reduced rates or deals at the weekend.
Try The following - Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, The Queens Hotel, Hotel Metropole, Leeds Marriot.
For an extra special weekend away, if cash isn't an issue, try Malmaison, or 42 The Calls, both will give extremely high standards of service, you won't be dissapointed (The restaurant attached to No42 is called brasserie 44, and is recommended!
