Unfortunately there is no way out of that because the prices are like that on the menues as well!! So be aware.

Lot of people traveling to Prague for stag and hen nights but also romantic and sightseing holiadys. Everyone want to get the best deal and enjoy the time over there.
So.............................If you want to know where is the best place to eat and drink and what you should do to prevent being overcharged than you should read this review.
If you like your drink and food than you should know that lot of places probably overcharge unless you stick to these rools.
1) make sure that you ask for a menu (evena drink menu) becuase in czech is ususal have a drink menu, therefore you can choose your drink and you also know the correct cost of them and so does for the food ( I know that you think that is normal and like this it is in every country) but no because despite the fact that you know the price , some people will try to overcharge you. So when you receive your final bill check it all over again.
2) you don't only have to get overcharge like this you could still pay the same price but still be overcharge and meaning of it is this: when you order a shot of alcohol, in Czech usual mesurements are 0.05cl or 0.04cl which is bacikaly double of what you getting over here. But lot of people now that over there therefore they will give you single and charge you for double. So if you have a chance watch them what they doing. and what you ordering.
3) Never listen people on the streets asking you to go to some places because mostly it is scam. They offer you a free drink or something but when you actually come in to that place it is usually a brothel or strip bar where the prices are sky high. Unfortunately there is no way out of that because the prices are like that on the menues as well!! So be aware.
4) Finaly in Czech it is usual to tip therefore if you do tip you get better service.
In Prague there is lot of things to see and do.
If you are on Stag or Hen night you probably want some of this:
Good place and cheap to go for a Food: This is traditional Czech food Restaurant called " U Basnika Panve" it is located in Pargue 2, area called Vinohrady. Street called Trebizskeho ulice.
You can get a subway Line A (Green) trhe stop is called (Jiriho z podebrad) pronaunced as (Jeeree-ho z Po-de-brad ) and than just find a street called Manesova pronaunced as (Maa-neh- sova) and keep going about 2 or 3 blocks (not big bloks i promisse) and than you will se on your left hand side the restaurant. which is on the corner.
Or you can take a taxi which will set u for maximum of 200czk and that is equivalent to £4.80 but you have to call the taxi (number is + 420 (0) 222111000 ) Make sure that the driver have the meter on and in corner have no 1 or 2.
Moveing on the above restaurant is in a medeaval style and will give you very big portions and delitious meals as me and my husband going there everytime we are in Prague. The prices are very reasnoable you'll pay around £2.50- £5.00 for main caurse but it depending on what you order.
I am sure that you will enjoy it very much as i have sent all my friends over there when they visited Prague and they have been very satisfied.
Now after food you would like to go out for Drink i guess:
There is a lot of bars and night clubs around
But what you should be aware of is that NIGHT CLUB in Czech means Brothel so if you see sign saying NIGHT CLUB don't go there, unless you want to obviously!!!
Entertament places called Clubs or Disco or just bars.
One very good Disco (especialy for guys) is located in the heart of Centre. On the way to Charles Bridge. The name of street is KARLOVA Ulice (Charles street) The Disco is called ZLATY STROM pronaunced as (Zla-tea Strom).
I have got several bars they play all sort of music. They have girls dancing top less in one section of the disco. But if you don't want to see that than there is a differet dance floors and places to sit and have a drink. Now the entrance is 60czk or 80czk for guys and Girls go free (which is quite ususal in Prague, but not everywhere)
They also do food untill 5am (at least they used to did) and the food is very nice but i would stick to the above place as that is very good quality food. The drinks cost around 60 -70 czk (£1.45 - £1.70) for Jim beam with coke or other mix like that. Vodka is usualy cheaper and Wine as well large glas of wine is usualy about 40czk (£1)
For people who like House music and techno and that sort of music
The best place is probably Karlovy Lazne which is just of the Charles Bridge and it is located at place called Lavka pronounced as (La-v-ka)
There is an entrance usually about 100czk (£2.40)
This place have got 4 floors of House, Hard rock, 70-80 music and in one room it is usually something different every time. You can checked leaflets in Tourist informations in Prague.
It is a bit more expensive than usual night club and you have to drink from plastic cups because this place is located by the river. And the owners don't want people throwing the glasses over to it.
If you are romantic couple and you want to have a nice diner and don't mind spending a little extra than the below would be just perfect for you.
This restaurant is a high class restaurant if restaurants will have a star than this place will be 4 star.
You might think that would be very expensive.. yes it is for people who work and live in Czech but for British people is not really.
Drinks are about £2.50 for jim beam with coke (as an example) glass of wine is about 60 - 80czk which is about (£1.45 - £2) and food is around £5 - £10
This place is called Ostroff and it is located on a little island which u can see from Charles bridge. You can get there from the bridge oposite Charles bridge. The bridge is located by National Theater which you can't miss. you walk to the middle of the bridge and then you'll see stairs on each side take the stairs on your left hand side. and you will come right to the door of this restaurant.
It is very romanic spot as all the tables are by the windows so you can enjoy the beautiful views.
Now one of the romantic spots is on this island as well. when you finish your diner walk underneeth the bridge to the end of the island you will see in from of you harles bridge and on your left hand side Prague castel and lot of other spots and all this is on light . In that moment you feel like in fairytell.
I hope that this wasn't too confusing and boring.
