This is a relatively new "chinkers" opened late 2000, on Great Victoria Street, Belfast (for those who know the are almost opposite the Europa Hotel).
I would not advise trying to visit without booking well in advance - the popularity of the Red Panda has to be seen to be believed!
I had the pleasure of visiting the restaurant with a group of work colleagues for a leaving lunch. It was well able to cater for 13 of us - although l would say we were half an hour late getting seated - our table was booked for 1.30pm.
Eventually we sat at the table - we did not have to worry about waiting to place orders - as we had the fore-sight to order ahead.
Well what a culinary delight we experienced.
My starter - spare ribs - salted chilli style - almost a main course in itself - delicious.
For my main course l had the traditional beef curry - well this could feed 2 people very easily - and it was delicious.
I didnt have dessert - l could not be tempted by "deep fried ice-cream"
Service was excellent and prompt, and the staff were more that helpful.
As for cost - the lunch time menu was excellent value - £7.50 for 3 course (of which there is wide variety). I have been told, that the evening menu is pretty costly, compared to your normal chinese, but if the quality of food is anything to go by - l would have no issue paying for the food.
The layout of the restaurant was good - room between tables, bright, airy and spacious.
I would recommend The Red Panda to any one - l had an excellent experience and from talking to others the feeling is mutual.

Advantages: A good day out for families and fractious mothers. Disadvantages: If they keep losing them at the current rate, there'll be no animals left.
