Advantages: many stores and attactions Disadvantages: confusing
...New York is a city of business. But it's also a city of tourism and
culture with it's great museums and attractions. Everybody should go
tere and try out the New York subway. The amount of different people
and places are amazing. Central park is a must. They have the cleanest
park I have ever seen and have these floral arrangements that are
fabulous. But you can't forget about shopping, it's just too hard, there's too many stores to choose from. Overall, New Yorkcity
is fantastic to visit but personnally, I find it too confusing to live
in....

Advantages: Everything Disadvantages: Dirty, Noisy but part of the place
...I would strongly advise anybody who has not visited New YorkCity to start saving their pennies and to plan a trip to the greatest city on earth.Where do you start on an opinion of NYC?
First of all it is the city that never sleeps, the city has a buzz all of its own. It is just like it seems of movies. Just walking down the street you get a buzz of the place. I thought it would be fairly unsafe to walk around at night but it is fine so long as you stay in the busy areas.
I loved Central Park, Statue of Liberty, batteryPark, Ellis Island, UN Building, Empire State (go at night), Greenwich Village - the list goes on & on and I know that I have only seena fraction of the place.
The place is briliant - Go & see for yourself....

Advantages: evrythign you could want in a city Disadvantages: not cheap on a student budget
...I remember being worried when I was heading to NewYork. I wasn't worried about the crime or being mugged. I wasn't worried about talking to the cab drivers in some strange pseudo-american, nor about getting lost on the easy to remember streets. I was worried simply that it wouldn't live up to expectations.
I needn't have fret. Whilst being the backdrop to most of my favourite telly programmes and films, New York surpassed my very high expectations. But not from the building - the drive from John F Kennedy airport left me thinking I had flown to a slum - until I went over a hill in Queens and saw Manhattan's skyline. You have to lean your head out of the cab window to catch it all. It's a wonderful sight. You feel like you're in a movie.
New York is the best of most worlds: it is one of those cities that you can enjoy just walking...

The New Yorker is in an excellent midtown location with the subway (lines A, C & E) literally steps outside. Being on the corner of 8th Avenue and 34th Street this meant good access to Macy's, Empire State Building, Madison Square Gardens and the... more
Postmodernism, eh? It's a funny old bag of fish. Even the holier-than-thou critics don't quite seem to know what it's all about. They argue whether it's
a) a revolt against modernism,
b) a progression of modernism,
c) both of these and more
or d) more
