I stayed at the Roxburghe Hotel last year with my fiance for the weekend. It is part of the MacDonaldshotel chain. Was a bit tricky to find it on Charlotte square but the annoying part was trying to find a nearby car park as the hotel has no parking facilites. The hotel itself was very nice indeed! The staff were very friendly and helpful on every occasion. Did feel a bit out of place in my jeans and old trainers but all the same we didn't get any of those funny looks you sometimes get in those situations. Our room was rather old fashioned but in beautiful way. Nice size with a huge queen size comfortable bed. The only thing that wasn't too nice was our view, you opened the curtains and saw a ledge with some dead birds and rubbish on it. Nice!! Room service was excellent. Mini bar was stocked full but i don't touch these as they are always way overpriced. The location was fantasic as well, lots of restaurants and pubs etc nearby as well as many shopping centres. My friend works for MacDonalds and got us the room for £30 a night which was a fantastic bargain. It would usually cost around £100 which i still think is worth it.
