What Is It?
The Royal Highland Show is the agricultural event of the year in Scotland. Now it is ... ...once a year roughly around the 20-4th of June over 4 days, usually a Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It hosts the biggest farming competitions for Horses, Cattle, Sheep, Goats, Pigs, Chickens, Honey, Milk, Cheese, Ice-Cream and much more. There are hundreds of stall holders from Tractors, Crafts, Food everything farming related. And so many different events for every age ranging from the fast and furious to the charming and cute. Why Go?

Advantages: Masses of things to do and see! Disadvantages: Can be expensive
The Royal Highland Show is an annual treat for me and my family. It is situated at Ingliston, adjacent to Edinburgh Airport and just 8 miles west of Edinburgh city centre.
This annual agricultural show runs for four consecutive days in June. It dates back to 1822 and is an opportunity for the farming community to show of their best breeds, whether cattle, sheep or horses and enable the public to see how much care and hard work goes into farming.

THE COUNTRYSIDE ARENA:
Show jumping
Falconry
Terrier racing
Sheep dog display.
MACHINERY AND MOTOR DISPLAY:
A huge display of farming machinery from small tractors to Huge combine harvesters.
An outdoor motor show.
MUSICAL HIGHLIGHTS: Pipe bands parading around the site.
Jazz music
Irish dancers
Brazilian samba.
