We spent two nights here as a package that included 1 dinner and two breakfasts. We were using it as a base for a special event and it worked for us. There was nothing that jarred about the place; by the same token it was not that "special". We paid for a one above the basic "executive" room and so the small size - in fact getting toward the "poky" when two of you are trying to dress up in smart clothes - was a disappointment. Otherwise the room was fine, nice bathroom, good bed, the Holiday Inn "menu of pillows" and so on. We ate in the restaurant, reasonably early and almost entirely alone! The food was edible but forgettable it could almost have been anything. For instance my wife had salmon and the sauce was overwhelming. Other than a long queue to check out the place was "fine". Happy Customer at the Regent

Advantages: Lovely modern rooms & wonderful breakfast
Disadvantages: Room slightly smaller than expacted

I went to the Regent Hotel in February 08 for a 2 night stay. I found the hotel after endless hotel searches in Ambleside which seemed to all bring up dated, old-fashioned looking hotels which weren't what we wanted. The Regent offered a refreshing alternative with modern looking bedroom, all recently refurbished. We paid £300 for 2nights bed and breakfast for 2 people. The hotel was easy to find and was right near Lake Windermere as promised. We managed to park the car easily in the car-park, although we did notice that once everyone had checked in for the day the car-park looked rather full. It was only a short walk from where we parked to the reception, we only had small weekend bags but wouldn't have had a problem with suitcases. The Royal Wells Inn- "The Royal"

Advantages: 24 hr bar, luxury, well presented rooms, Affordable!!
Disadvantages: Having to leave!

Firstly the Royal Wells Inn/Hotel/"the Royal" are the same things, a beautiful hotel in Tunbridge Wells. The Royal Wells Hotel Mount Ephraim, Tunbridge Wells, Kent TN4 8BE I was lucky enough to attend a wedding this weekend very near Tunbridge Wells, and of course we had to look for accomodation. It was a complete surprise, that my boyfriend had already booked a hotel when the bride announced the date and place nearly a year and a half ago. Apparently she had recommended this hotel as an excellent place to stay to all of her guests. The Royal Wells Hotel got its name from Queen Victoria, who often visited as a young princess in the early nineteenth century.
