The Sidings Hotel & Restaurant directly overlooks one of the fastest and most impressive stretches of track in the land: the York to Thirsk run. In this quiet location railway enthusiasts are given the opportunity to thrive in a haven built from a collection of genuine railway artefacts and memorabilia.Guests can relax in the spacious conservatory and enjoy the authentic style of this delightful and intriguing hotel with its friendly atmosphere and panoramic views of the open Yorkshire countryside.
...would go about getting out! We did have to leave the keys on reception (so they could move the car if required - which they did as it wasn't in the same place when we returned). For us the car park wasn't too much of a problem as we didn't use the car for the break, however it was hard work getting in the small space!
Staff were friendly on arrival and we were seen to our room quickly.
Location
The hotel is ideally located in the centre of York. It is right near the York Dungeons, only 10minutes walk from York Minster. We visited most of the main areas of interest on York and everywhere was close to the hotel. The placement of the hotel was my favourite thing about it as it was just so easy to walk to some of the city's best attractions from here.
When we checked in...

Just as a side note before I start the review of the hotel, the weather was fantastic and for much of the time we went out regularly in T-shirts.
Anyway we stayed at The Bentley Hotel for the whole of our stay and overall we were impressed and enjoyed our time there.
**ABOUT THE HOTEL**
The Bentley is a 3 star hotel which was built in 1904 and last renovated in 2002, however I have a feeling some renovation may be going on now as the roof top restaurant has been closed until further notice.
It has 197 rooms in total, which range in quality depending on which sort you book. We had a regular room but found this to be very satisfactory. There was plenty of room from...
