BAYHORSEINN
I was booked to do a church service in Hereford and my hubby suggested that we go for the weekend, so onto the internet I went, doing a Google search for hotels in the Hereford area. As we were aiming for the HR4 postcode area, we looked for a similar postcode. After looking at a couple of hotels, this one caught my eye, I liked the fact that it had its own website and I thought it looked very nice from the pictures, I also took a look at reviews and the menu on offer.
There were only a couple of short reviews on the one site, one was in favour of the Inn and other ran it down slightly. From experience we decided to take the one review with a pinch of salt and rang up the Inn. I do like it when you can talk to a person instead of emailing when it comes to things like this. You can tell a lot from the way ...
Advantages: Helpful staff, good facilities, large comfy rooms Disadvantages: A little bit far away from the city centre.
My weekends away with the girlies always have to be cheap affairs, so we usually end up staying in some dodgy B&B on Brighton seafront or the back roads of Great Yarmouth, but when I was booking our trip to Newcastle, I stumbled upon the Holiday Inn website, and bagged us a right bargain!
The price
We booked on the Internet a standard double room, which slept up to 4 people in 2 double beds. The cost of this room per night was £54.50. Which works out to about £14.00 each per night! Cheaper than most B&B's!
When we arrived at the Holiday Inn though, the price of this room was advertised as £155.00 per room per night. We queried this, and were told that our rate was the Internet rate, and as such we saved £100.00 per night!
So please, if any of you ever need to book a Holiday Inn, do so on the Internet and save yourself ...
Advantages: Near school, cheap beer, Millionaire machine Disadvantages: It ain't a classy joint....
Lets just get a couple of things straight before I start. York and the York area is home to 19 pubs and inns named The BayHorse or The BayHorseInn. Through no fault of my own, BayHorse pubs in York are known as ones who harbour men of a certain sexual persuasion. Whether you would want to frequent one is none of my business. However, the BayHorse I am assessing is The BayHorse, located on the A19 route into York, addressed 105 Main Street, Fulford, York.
To get there, from the centre of York, follow signs for the A19 to Selby, progress into Fulford, a suburb of York. After passing a Repsol filling station, around 200m further south, on the left hand side of the road, is the BayHorse. From the South, go into York from the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet exit of the A64. The pub is on the right hand side of the road about 3 ...
