yellow walls are accented with black and white photos of classic MiamiBeach Deco hotels. Wooden Venetian blinds add to the airy, tropical feeling.
The pool's nothing on that at The National - but who needs one ? The ocean's just acress the street ! Also, there's no restaurant, although they do serve a "continental" style breakfast in the lobby - or even on the verandah. There are also a hundered excellent eateries just a few blocks down Ocean Drive, so we didn't find the lack of a restaurant a problem at all.
There's also the AMAZING "Jerry's Famous Diner" just around the corner at 1450 Collins Avenue, everything you could ever want for breakfast, lunch and dinner !

It is where the gorgeous, young sun-seekers head for the day relaxing on the miles and miles of glorious beach, and a night partying in the clubs. It is also home to the fabulous Art Deco distric, housing around 800 buildings, near Dade Blvd at the North & 6th Street at the South.
MiamiBeach
Just north of South beach on another 'island' MiamiBeach is a more affordable place to stay. Like South Beach, it is home to plenty of bars and clubs on Collins Avenue and Washington Avenue. It is also famous for the Bal Harbour Shopping mall.
Coconut Grove
A trendy area for that attracts many artists, it is also home to golf courses and upscale restaurants.
Southern Miami/Dade County

Our tower room was not huge, but very well furnished and decorated, with a DVD player & VCR, satellite TV, minibar, bathrobes, slippers, and Aveda bath and skin-care products, and I believe this is standard in all rooms.
