...Air Koryo is the name of the national carrier of the Democratic Republic of Korea (better known as North Korea) and practically is the only transportation system available if you wish to visit, for business or leisure, this country unless you are ready to take a long trip on board of a not really confortable train from Beijing, China to Pyongyang. Air Koryo is a name adopted in recent years as in the past the carrier name was CAAK (Civic Aviation Association of Korea). New name but very old fleet composed by a vintage collection of Russian aircrafts. Four Ilyushin 62, two Tupolev 134, two Tupolev 154, two Ilyushin 18, eight Antonov 24. Advantages: Great performances and unusual acts
Disadvantages: Perhaps only the fact that Saturday performances are limited to 2 in the afternoon

...The Moscow State Circus is touring Britain at the moment. My husband and I went along last night to see it. I had seen the Moscow State Circus on Ice 10 years ago in Paris and was very impressed by the acts, especially the magicians, although I was not in favour of the animal acts. This time I made sure this one was an animal free zone before I bought my ticket. Tickets are reasonably priced from around £8 to £20. We got grandstand tickets at £16 each but, in actual fact, wherever you sat you would get a decent view because the circus ring is not that big. All of the acts were amazing and, even if you think you've seen it all before they manage to surprise you with some incredibly dangerous feats. Out of the 6 or 7 acts on show there were 3 that were outstanding in my opinion. There was a clown who came on, in between acts... Read review

...Over Christmas I visited the Festival Hall to see the Moscow State Circus. On arriving at the Festival Hall, which is remarkably easy to find and accessible, I was somewhat disappointed by the appearance of the theatre. It is certainly not the most glamorous of buildings and was built in the 1960's and unfortunately the architects have chosen a concrete block style for the theatre. Nevertheless once inside the theatre it is much more cosy and more like a theatre than a hospital or prison block! The amenities are good. There are lots of toilets which when I visited were all kept clean and tidy. There was a bar where you could obtain drinks and crisps/sweets which were reasonably priced. You could also purchase ice creams which is great for children young and old alike. As it was the Moscow state circus performing, it was also possible... Read review
