Advantages: A quiet spot not far from London and Midlands Disadvantages: Not enough Adnams pubs
...inseparable from Thorpeness comes Walberswick. We had lunch in Walberswick the other day in The Swan, where in contrast to Orford Quay, a mere round of crab sandwiches was as dear as Moby Dick, although, to be fair they were nice – oh yes, AND they serve Adnams, not that I’d want you to think I’m fixated on the stuff, or anything………..
SOUTHWOLD - Ah yes, Mecca for Adnams drinkers! Southwold is a really nice little town with a buzzing main-street (well, on a sunny Saturday is was), bookshops, and an amber museum (which is enough to put my wallet on ‘amber alert’). Sandy beaches nestle below nicely-proportioned cliffs. There are rows of beach-huts, now no doubt costing as much as a house in the town did ten years ago and a splendid four-square-to-the-wind lighthouse, which would be a perfect spot for looking down on the Adnams Brewery – personally...

Advantages: Nice location, clean, cheap Disadvantages: Creaky floors, not the best rooms ever
...The hotel is in a nice location and the rooms are clean. The staff are friendly and it is a safe environment and provides a car park.
Im not sure wether the rooms have been re-vamped since I stayed, as the bathroom at the time was superb and newly installed, however the rooms themselves werent the best. They were satisfactory but not wowing - which I suppose is reflected in the relatively low price. Also, the floors were very creaky, and when I stayed the tv was on a chair and was too low to see from the bed.
This hotel does its job as a pleasant place to stay while visiting the picturesque town of Harrogate, if you dont a want fancy luxorious room. If you are looking for the best experience I would go for a more expensive room elsewhere, but this hotel is by no means below standards or a bad experience and I would stay there again...
