Advantages: Lovely Salcombe location Disadvantages: Could be a little cleaner in pool area
This is my 3rd review on Devon hotels today and I am glad to write that this hotel met all our expectations and more!
The hotel is marketed as a 4 star establishment which is reasonable, however it could be a bit cleaner especially in the pool area.
Having said that, the hotel is in a fabulous location and the views from the Estuary view rooms is absolutley breathtaking.
Located at the end of Fore street, the hotel is a gentle 5 minutes walk to the centre of Salcombe with its mouth watering variety of shops and eateries. Salcombe is lovely! The estuary provides a fabulous backdrop to a romantic 2 or 3 day break and you cant help falling for the natural beauty of the area.
The hotel is quite modern in style but the rooms are a little dated in decor, quite big but on our last visit the standard room was a little disappointing in ...
Advantages: Very well acted, absorbing, intense, shocking in parts Disadvantages: A little mawkish at the end
of the storyline away, but I'll speak a little about my own feelings on The Prince Of Tides.
I watched this film on the recommendation of a friend, and I was a little apprehensive because my friend's and my own tastes in films, music etc. doesn't always coincide, but when she told me this was about delving into the history of a deeply dysfunctional family, I decided to give it a watch - at the time I was going through some counselling myself, dealing with a few of my own childhood issues, and I thought it may be something I could perhaps identify with.
I settled alone one evening to watch The Prince Of Tides, and as the film rolled on and got into the storyline, my eyes were becoming more firmly glued to the screen. I found one or two parts of it touched a little too close for comfort on a couple of my own childhood experiences, but that was ...
Advantages: The view and location, grass tennis court, fresh breakfast juice Disadvantages: The price! Walk to beach, bad grammar
We booked last minute which was a simple process of a phone call.
We chose the hotel based on its location in the main, but from the website it seemed to have everything we wanted; tennis, swimming pool, pitch and put, sauna, and more.
My only reservation was the price; it was around £1,100 for four nights, dinner and B&B for two in a standard room.
When we got there we the view didn?t disappoint. The hotel is just ten minutes from a secluded cove and all in gorgeous National Trust grounds. A warning though, if you?re not that fit then it would be a struggle to get up and down to the beach with everything you need each day.
There were also nice walks around the area and some lovely towns within driving distance.
Another particularly nice aspect of the hotel was the tennis court. I was surprised it was a grass court but ...
