As much as I love to shop I think there is nothing worse than being stuck in the same shopping area for ages. I am always going to different UK cities to go shopping and see new places but now that I am at university I am much nearer Manchester and tend to go here a lot. Having a car helps a lot in getting to the Trafford Centre so on one day when I had nothing to do I decided to go to this very famous centre and see what it had to offer.

Normally, parking at the Trafford Centre is really good. There are 10,000 free parking spaces available which I like about this centre because normally I have to pay to use shopping centre's car parks and it makes the day more costly. The days I find really busy here are Saturdays and Sundays, obviously being the weekend that's expected but once I was circling the car parks for an hour because of queues and trying to find an empty space. The car parks are all clearly signposted and it shows when they are full or how many spaces they have left to save you the trouble of going in and then having to come out.

So as for the actually shops in this centre, well it's definitely got a wide range of shops so you pretty much have everything you need here. It has clothes shops mainly so you have the usuals like Top Shop, Miss Selfridge, Jane Norman, Monsoon, Mango, French Connection, River Island but then it has some different shops like Skechers, Miss Sixty, Karen Millen and of course Selfridges. The Selfridges is great in here it has all the designer brands and the food section is also good and it is a bit pricey but it's worth it, it has a sushi place inside.

It has many shoe shops here, health & beauty shops, home wares, jewellery you name it. I like this centre for the fact you find a lot of different shops here. The only annoying thing is that if I want to go to one shop and then have another in mind sometimes they are at opposite ends of the centre and it is quite a long walk from one side to the other side. The thing is though there are maps around the centre of the whole floor plan so that if you do get lost or want to know where a certain shop is then you will find it easily.

One good thing here is it's not all about shopping they also have a lot of places to eat so it isn't like you are restricted when you start to get hungry. I have eaten at quite a lot of the places in here, I ate at Pizza Express which was really nice but they also have other well known chains like Est Est Est, Café Rouge, Frankie & Bennys, La Tasca and so on. They do have McDonalds if you don't want to spend a lot either or places you can just get a sandwich and cafes. There are a lot of bar & grills here too and they have Chinese food and many other international cuisines so you'll never starve without choice.

One other good part to the Trafford Centre which I only recently discovered on my last trip is that they have an arcade. They have lots of games machines, gambling machines and toy machines to play on. The toys are really good in the machines too. They also have bumper cars which are really fun and they have certain machines which you win tickets on then you trade the tickets in for prices depending on your ticket value. If you get bored of the shopping it's always good to come in here for a break and even though it is about money in here its still entertainment.

There's a cinema in here too if you want to go watch a film. They also have laser quest too. The Trafford Centre has good opening times as do most of Manchester's shops really. From Monday to Friday it's open from 10am to 10 at night. On a Saturday its 10am - 8pm and Sundays 12pm - 6pm not as long but still long enough. That's just the times for the actual shops being open but as for the restaurants and cinema they are open beyond midnight.

If you want a good day out, and by day I really mean day if you want a good look around the majority of the shops then this is the place to go. Driving here is easy as the Trafford centre is signposted on all motorway and roads leading up to it. There are loads of shops here and at sale time this is the ideal place to go. You can spend a good few hours here have lunch and then go see a film if you want so it really is fun. Also the range of shops are all good shops that I usually want to look in.
