The Estate who is clearly a company man as he proudly informed me of the other 21 hotels in the group, and how he was trying to infect the staff with his enthusastic energy for continuosly improving the Westerwood estate.

The Westerwood Golf and Spa Hotel was to be the destination for the first part of my recent midweek break to Scotland. I have known of the hotel for years, as I used to be based in Glasgow, and indeed a friend got married here. The Westerwood is situated midway between Glasgow and Stirling, and it is also very easy to access the city of Edinburgh itself, all three places offering more to the typical tourist than the images that the ?New Town? of Cumbernauld itself conjures up.
The hotel, which is situated in 400 acres of grounds, including its golf course, is easy to find, located just off the main A80 Stirling Road. The surrounding area is largely residential, and fairly quiet, although there is a small Dobbie?s Garden centre just down the hill. Parking shouldn?t be a problem as there is plenty available to the property ...
