Stay @ the West-in Dublin

Advantages: Luxurious and fantastic service
Disadvantages: Expensive

The Westin Hotel Dublin At College Green Dublin 2 Ireland Phone (353)(1) 645 1000 Fax (353)(1) 645 1234 5 Star Hotel ***** Westin hotels are part of the larger Starwood hotel family, including brands such as Sheraton, Four Points, W Hotels, St Regis, and the recent acquisition of Le Meridien. The Westin brand is always a blend of the modern, whilst allowing a certain amount of tradition, as is evident at The Westin in Dublin. I have, for many years, been meaning to stay here on a jaunt to Dublin and finally did it in September 2005, which is when and where I experienced my first "black velvet" - Guinness and Champagne ... lovely jubbly as Derek Trotter would say! Ideally located next to Trinity College in the centre of Dublin, the famous Grafton Street is a very short walk, as is the infamous Temple Bar ...

Review of Westin Hotel, Dublin

Go West to the Westin

Advantages: Gorgeous rooms and decor, friendly staff
Disadvantages: Stay here for a treat as it is more expensive than other hotels.

***Background*** Every couple wants their honeymoon to be special and it took a lot of planning to decide where my new husband and I were going to stay on our tour of the United States. Our first destination was to be San Francisco and we did quite a bit of research ourselves, as well as taking advice from our long haul specialist at Thomas Cook. We wanted something central, near to a tram stop for easy accessibility and exploration of the Wharf district, somewhere near some of the famous stores but most importantly, somewhere where the staff would make us feel special on our first couple of nights as a married couple. The Westin St Francis seemed to be the only hotel that met all those needs and I have to say we weren't disappointed one bit. ***The Location*** Union Square in San Francisco is the heart of the city and this ...

Review of The Westin St. Francis, San Francisco

The Westin, best hotel to date!

Advantages: Location, service, food, bars...the list goes on!
Disadvantages: It is expensive, but you get what you pay for.

I stayed at The Westin, Dublin in February 2007 for a 3 night short break, and having never stayed in a five star hotel I was not disappointed?. Before flying to Dublin I had already arranged for me and my partner to have a ?Dublin Pass?. This basically gives you transport from the airport into Dublin (we were dropped off very close to The Westin just outside Trinity College) and you also get free entry into the majority of Dublin?s attractions, I would thoroughly recommend this. When we arrived at our stop the bus driver then directed everyone towards where they were staying, when we said ?The Westin? the bus driver looked impressed saying something along the lines of ?best hotel around that is??.a taste of what was to come! Check-in So as we approached the hotel we were immediately impressed. A grand entrance with porters ...
