The White Horse is definitely set in beautiful surroundings and is a lovely pub to visit. I liked the modern refurbishment and the food was presented well and tasted wonderful. The waitress staff were also very kind and helpful, however we were treated very rudely by the owner who made us feel unwelcome from the start when an extra guest had been added to our party.
He made us feel lucky that he had been able to fit our guest in, even though the restaurant was practically empty throughout our meal. Then before four o clock, when sitting in the gardens finishing off our drinks, we were informed very rudely that the pub was to close and that the owners wanted the gardens back for themselves. It was a glorious summer afternoon and we would have ordered more drinks and stayed to soak up the sun if we were not made to feel so awkward. I was not impressed with the way we were spoken to at all and will not be going back to visit.
