best weekend break in idialic setting

Advantages: views,spacious rooms,helpful staff,clean,
Disadvantages: breakfast

Me and my partner stayed at this hotel last weekend and the whole experience was superb from start to finish.we had booked here as we were getting married on sat 22 august.my 1st impression of the hotel when we arrived was AMAZING! When we arrived a lovey gentleman rushed to help us with our bags and even offered to park are car.once in the hotel i was stunned by how clean and how stylish it was.once we haad checked in we were about to go to are room when the concierge shouted us back to tell us that they were upgrading us from our executive room to a fantastic suite.are suite was absolutely gorgeous with modern decor and a newly fitted bathroom suite with shower and bath.the view from our room was breathtaking.you could see straight to the lake and watch the boats come and go.if you looked down you could see the roof top terrace bar ...

Woodlands Park Hotel - Excellent Value for Money

Advantages: Great ambience, fantastic service, good food.
Disadvantages: We couldn't stay longer!

INTRODUCTION My wife and I were looking to do something special for our fifth wedding anniversary and decided that we fancied a dinner and room package somewhere fairly close to home. We had never left our toddler daughter overnight before, so we needed somewhere within short driving distance from the in-laws, just in case there were any problems whilst baby-sitting. A few months before, a friend of ours had recommended the Woodland Park Hotel, near the village of Stoke D?Abernon. It is one of the many properties in the Handpicked Hotels chain, so I looked up their web-site and signed up to their e-mail service, which sends general news and offers on all of the hotels in the chain, about two or three times a month. Fortunately, a timely offer popped into my inbox, and at £149 for two people, in a superior room, including a three ...

Three stars with pretensions

Advantages: Swimming pool and free parking close to the town centre
Disadvantages: The four stars aren't really justified, they just 'justify' an overpriced hotel

The Belsfield is a bit of a curiosity: I'm not entirely sure whether I enjoyed my stay there or not. First off: it is set in quite substantial grounds, so it has a reasonable amount of parking space for a hotel this close to the centre of the village, which is most definitely a plus at any time, never mind at the height of the tourist season. I stayed here at the end of November last year - well out of season. Another plus, if you aren't into lake swimming, it has it's own swimming pool. It also has a sauna, but that is somewhat lukewarm and could do with some renovation, if only to replace the scorched wood! Access to the swimming pool is down a fairly steep flight of stairs and there is no lift access. The hotel was once a mansion, which explains its somewhat labyrinthine layout. There is a small lift, but because ...
