**Intro** Me and my family recently paid visit to 'The World of Beatrix Potter' while we were on an Easter break. We stayed in a hotel which was a 15 minute walk to the attraction which is situated on the A592. We stayed for approximately 2-3 hours as there is lots to see and do. You can have your dinner in the on site café as well. A fantastic day out or for just a quick visit.
**What's It About** The idea of the Beatrix Potter experience is to see all 23 of Beatrix Potters' magical tales. These are brought to life using sights, sounds and even smells. These include taking a look at: *Mrs. Tiggy-winkle in her kitchen and trying to guess whose clothes is whose. Great for getting the kids involved. *Walking into the woodland glade to meet Jemima Puddle-duck and the scary "foxy whiskered gentleman" *Taking a peep inside Mr McGregor's greenhouse with Peter Rabbit. *Another chance to find out more about the fantastic tales with the "Tale of Mrs Heelis" presentation and take a walk in her footsteps with the Beatrix Potter Virtual Walks. *And new to 2007 there is many competitions along your journey to open your senses even more to the world of Beatrix Potter.**The Onsite Shop** Also new the site have opened a on site gift shop. Selling the very best Peter Rabbit merchandise from around the globe. For instance is you are planning a nursery then this shop has everything you need. Or maybe looking for inspiration for a christening gift or for children's birthdays again the gift shop has the answers. Grown ups will also be delighted by our range of collectable ceramics, books and toiletries. Some of the merchandise includes:
DVD / CD & Tapes All can be bought in the shop or it can even be bought from their online shop.
**Tea Room** Their tea Room is the ideal way to complete your visit to the World of Beatrix Potter - where else would you be able to take tea with Simpkin the Cat or have lunch with an army of helpful mice? They were inspired by Beatrix Potter's own favourite tale to decorate the tea room. The Tea Room is ideal for families with a dedicated children's menu, plus games and colouring competitions to keep every one happy. They also have high chairs and food heating facilities. The Tea room has also won an award, they were the winner of Cumbria for Excellence local food and drink award in 2004. Selling the traditional scone in there tea room, it's a definite one to have while your there.**Opening Times and Prices** We visited the site during the Easter holidays and it was really busy. The only time they are closed is during the Christmas period. Open in the summer and winter: Summer 10.00am - 5.30pm Winter 10.00am - 4.30pm It isn't really that dear to visit this wonderful place. You can buy individually or as a group. Day passes and other various passes are also available: Adults £6.00 Children £3.00 Group Rates £5.00 & £2.50 The main pass you can get is called the freedom pass which allows up to two adults and two childrento visit the Attraction as many times as they like within a year, and includes newsletters, special offers, discounts in the shop and tearoom and special membership activities. The price is £25 and can be bought from the reception.
**Conclusion** I would say the best time to visit the attraction is during the holidays. If you have children to take then the prices don't rise during the holidays so that's always a positive. You may think that the site gets too busy and crowded during the holidays. Which it does but there is always something on to watch or do during that time as more people are there. It an overall great experience to have if you are visiting the lake district area or if you just wanted to pop in and see what its all about. Me and my whole family loved it all and didn't want to go out! Thanks for reading Lorna x
