Theo's Restaurant is located on the seafront in Cape Town's premier location, Camp's Bay. This fantastic restaurant is renowned for it's seafood (having won best seafood restaurant several years running), and hangs it's own meat for top quality steaks.
It has an extensive menu, serving everything from homemade burgers and pasta dishes to seasonal game and fresh line-caught fish. There is also a childrens menu offering quality food rather than the standard chicken nuggets.
There are a variety of different desserts on offer each night which the waiter will bring to your table to tempt you.
To accompany your meal, there is a massive selection of wines, both locally produced ones and foreign imports. The staff are well versed in which wines compliment your meal and are on hand to advise. There is also a good selection of sparkling wines, spirits and beers.
With it's seafront location, Theo's is perfect for a tasty bite to eat after a day on the beach, with a parasol-covered outside area, and with a cosy interior for night time dining.
The staff are extremely helpful and always strive to meet your requirements.
Booking is not necessary during the day but may be advisable in the evening during peak season, although they will always try to fit you in.
The dress code is typically South African - casual, casual, casual!
Despite the fabulous food and great atmosphere, the prices at Theo's are very reasonable, with an average 3 course meal costing around £15 per person (exchange rate dependant). You can get a decent bottle of wine for around £6.
My recommendations would be the piri-piri mussels or beef/tuna carpaccio to start, the Hollandse beifstuk steak or lobster thermidor for a main and the brownies for dessert.
The wonderful
restaurant can cater for all tastes and all ages and is always on my "to do" list when I'm in Cape Town.
