Full review

I will start the review where we started from Birmingham Airport.
The Holiday was run by Thomson's.

You depart Birmingham on the 07:00 flight Sunday morning, the flight to Kavala is about 3 hrs 15 mins, so with time difference ( 2 hrs) you land approx 12:15 local time.

Passport control was a quick wave thru, only two Carosels, quite a small but modern airport.

Luggage arrives, 50 meter walk to rep who points you to your bus, ours was BUS "D".
By the Bus are little signs of the Resort Accomodations names, so in our case (ni pun intended) we place our cases there, the luggage is taken across to Thassos for you in small vans.
We are put on BUS D and taken on a 20 min drive to the little port Town of Keramoti. Here you have about 30-40 mins before the ferry departs. The rep will point out which one and stays there, in the mean time we headed for a taverna for that first Cold Mythos Beer.

Boarding was easy, no ticket checks it appears to be the case on Sundays, the ferry operators know it is change over day so we all must be OK.

A very pleasant 30 min crossing, viewing Thassos as it gets closer.

Pile off the Ferry, rep says BUS "E", to be honest we could have walked it., Anyway after two min Bus Ride arrive outside Thetis Studios, where the Luggage system has worked, there are our two cases on the pavement outside the gate.

Check in, or better to say Greeted by Mrs Thetis, ask her how she is in Greek and immediately become her favourite.
The card our Rep gave us says Room 111, but quizical look by Mrs Thetis and a peep into 111 shows it is occupied.
Never mind she says you have a better room 107, (that favourite thing again).

Yes 107 has two balconies instead of one like the others. One faces over the pool area towards the South. The second across the olive trees to the hills in the west for those Sunsets.

The Studios like most Greek ones are basic but clean and fuctional.

Two single beds. LARGE Wardrobe with plenty of hangers. Also Draws. Bed side cabinets, and a gressing table with draws.
The kitchen are has usual two cooking plate unit, but also electric kettle. Sink and Drainer with cupboards. Also good sized fridge.

bathroom is larger than normal with open shower, no curtain (But Hey this is Greece) and there is actually a plug in the sink.

There was always plenty hot water.
Thassos is onw of the Greenest of Greek Islands, and water shortage does not seem a problem.

Towels and sheets were changed every 3 days, and the help cleaned around each day. She was good but not the best we have had, but still deserved to be remembered in the usual fashion at end of holiday.

There are approx 15 studios in the complex.

It has a garden with chairs and tables with a small Bar.
A resonable sized Pool for a refreshing dip not really a swim.
Goes from 1 meter to 2.5 meters deep.
There is a seperate are for the toddlers.
Sun beds are available, but there did seem to be some reserving by putting Towels on at 08:50, I thought it was that other lot that did that.
Good job we prefer the beach, of the said towels could have ended up in the pool.

I feel owners should put up notices saying unattended Towels will be removed after 1 hour. (Grumpy old man says the wife).

The other issue I have are the bar Prices. A small (330 ml) Mthos was 2.5 Euros (£2.25 at exchange rate). I tried to get it across to owners that if they sell 500ml size for same 2.5 Euros they will end up making more money on a far greater turnover of sales.
A 500ml Mythos at local supermarket was 75 Cents (70p), so they would still be rakink it in.

But I will not dwell on that, Mr & Mrs Thetis are a very nice couple and run a tight ship.

They request a quiet time around the pool from 3 till 5 in the afternoon. You have to appreciate this is siesta time, very necessary in a hot country where people work long into the evening.
This does not mean you can not use the pool, but if you have children they ask for them to be quite, they are usually asleep as well anyway.

The Thetis Studios are located to the west end of Thassos town, it takes about 30 mins to walk to the Old Port Area where we feel is the best location for that evening meal.
Which means about a 35 min stroll back at the end of the night, perhaps about 200 yards too far to be honest.
But if you can get Room 107 with its views it is prob worth it. Although if I am truly honest if we return to Thassos Town we will look for somewhere closer to the Old Port.

It was well located for public transport, 5 Min Walk to ferry Port for Ferry to Keramoti.
Bus goimg clockwise arounf the Island passes the Gate, the other way round just walk down to the corner about 70 yards.

Supermarket (very Large) about 5 min walk.
Bakers 70 yards.
Nearest Taverna by Ferry port (5 mins )
Costis Pottery about 15 min walk, worth a visit.
Town Beach beyond Old Port about 30-35 mins.

There was a bit of building nearby started about 08:00, but almost finished.
Swallows sitting out side room very chatty.
Sheep in olive grove, quite musical Bells.
Church Bells on Sunday 07:00
Distant Dogs not too bad.
Just the normal noises of the Greek Contry Side.

But the Ouzo helps you sleep thru that.

Return opposite to arrive.

Cases picked up from Outside gate 08:45.
You can elect to walk to Port of be picked up.
Walking gives you time for breakfast before that ferry.

We saw Breakfast being served at Moyzzes Taverna, asked if they were serving.
Waiter looked at me, You came in the other night, he recognised us.
BREAKFAST IS ON THE HOUSE< WELCOME.

Hey Thassos YOU ARE THE REAL GREEK.
