Advantages: MAGNIFICENT SIGHTS
Disadvantages: THE FLIES!!

...WE ARRIVED A LITTLE HOT BUT EXCITED AT THE LAKESIDE AND OUR GUIDE POINTED OUT THE EXPANSE OF PINK WATER. IT TOOK A WHILE FOR US TO REALISE THAT THEY WERE, IN FACT FLAMINGOES; THEY ROSE EN MASSE AND THE SOUNDS OF THEIR WINGS BEATING SOUNDED RATHER LIKE THE BLADES OF A HELICOPTER!! SURROUNDED BY BREATHTAKING SCENERY, THIS IS A PLACE ME AND MY FAMILY WOULD CERTAINLY TRAVEL TO AGAIN FOR A LITTLE PIECE OF ORNITHOLOGICAL HEAVEN. IT WAS REASONABLY PRICED, EASY TO TRAVEL TO VIA THE WARDEN'S JEEP AND THE STILLNESS AND COLOURS OF THE SCENERY WERE INCREDIBLE. IF YOU NEVER DO ANYTHING ELSE IN YOUR LIFE, GO HERE AND CELEBRATE THE JOY AND DIVERSITY OF UNSPOILT NATURE IN ALL ITS GLORY. MY ELDEST SON WAS ONLY EIGHT YEARS OLD AT THE TIME AND HE STILL TALKS ABOUT THE MAGIC OF IT THIRTEEN YEARS LATER!!... Read review

Advantages: Great seasonal beer, good fries and hearty portions
Disadvantages: Never have I had a bad experience during my many trips to Vetter

...During my years in Heidelberg, I would have to say Vetter was a favorite spot of mine. The restaurant/pub has its own brewery, with the food being good, and the prices reasonable. Vetter has prided itself on being a sort of micro-brewery with an atmosphere to accomodate everyone. One of my favorite "distinct touches" Vetter has to offer must be the table candles. The setting of Vetter is unique as well. The brahaus is located right off of the old Heidelberg bridge, just down from the castle. I certainly wish you take my advice.If your travels every take you to Heidelberg, I suggest you try out the Brahaus Vetter. It is well worth your time. I would recommend getting the phliesch-flan(?). I believe it is number thirteen on the menu. Bring your appetite.... Read review

Advantages: a wonderful and unique experience; gives you a good sense of direction
Disadvantages: too expensive

...There is no better way to get a perspective of where all the places you have just visited are than to look down upon a city. The Eiffel Tower in Paris proves this well and to some extent London's, London Eye does so as well. There is something magical about looking down and seeing a completely unique perspective of the layout and structure of a city, however for the travelling tourist, this luxury may prove to be very expensive. Having visited London in my teens with my two sisters we found the experience so expensive that we even tried to pass my one sister, who was 16 at the time, as a thirteen year old to get a discount. Other than that, it is a wonderful and essential London experience!... Read review
