WHY DID I BOOK? i booked it for my mum when she came down for a few days. i wanted somewhere near our flat and close to local amenitites like market street, galleries, train and tram stations.
WHERE IS IT? city centre literally on piccadily gardens. 5-10 mins walk from piccadily station. 2 mins from bus station and piccadily and market street tram stations. right at the end of portland street close to china town and ring road.
BENEFITS I felt my mum was safe as after a certain time of night they checked everyone going into or out of the hotel. keeping lone women safe at night is really important to them. it was very clean and tidy. the hotel itself is very attractive especially at night. my mum was nervous about going to breakfast by herself so we ordered it to her room.
NEGATIVES it was quite expensive. i paid £120 each night and it was a monday and tuesday in mid-january. it was cheaper to get a twin rather than a single. and the room although comfortable had no windows so for a two night stay it would have been nicer to get a bit of a view.
