Location The Thistle Tower Hotel is a distinctive 60's looking buildinglocated right on the banks of the River Thames, next to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. This Hotel is a , large, 4-star hotel which has spectacular views of the River Thames and St Katherine's Dock
Facilities The Tower Thistle Hotel has lovely, well equipped bedrooms and suites (the beds are especially comfortable). We have always had a superb view from the window. Rooms are all en-suite and have colour TV and kettle. This hotel has a range of good restaurants and bars (the breakfast is particually good),. There is a comprehensive fitness centre with good gym and a gift shop (i would buy in town as they've hiked the prices up in the hotel). Parking is available at £14 per day.
The hotel is very well placed for all of Londons facilities. The Nearest underground is Tower Hill (just up the road).
Book through an online company for best rates - superbreak are particually good. You can book with Theatre tickets for extra discount.
Advantages: Convenient location Disadvantages: Too expensive for the quality
...sent my friend to another Thistle hotel nearby. It was £156 and they told him it's the same rate as Tower Thistle.
I would not stay here if I have to pay for the room myself because it is too expensive and even though it says 4 star on the website, the quality is not really 4 star. ...

Advantages: On bank of Thames, next to Tower Bridge, Tower of London & St Katherine's Dock Disadvantages: Quite a way from Central London, drinks & restaurant expensive
Now the Guoman Thistle. Have stayed here 3 times on leisure breaks with a coach tour, all at August Bank Holiday weekends. Hotel overlooks the River Thames on one side and St Katherine's Dock on the other. There are lots of boats coming & going from the dock which has a very interesting lock into the River Thames. Around the walkways of St Katherine's Dock are restaurants, shops and of course a Starbucks for that morning coffee! Swans & moorhens ... ...as well. Butlers Wharf, with lots of riverside restaurants with outdoor heated eating areas, is just across Tower Bridge is a very popular eating area in the evening.
Rooms nicely furnished and clean and either overlook the River Thames or St Katherine's Dock. Staff usually helpful, especially on reception, which can get very busy. Bar inside hotel foyer is a pleasant area with hotel prices but reasonably priced snack foods. Bar in groundfloor restaurant, ...

Advantages: Great location, luxurious Disadvantages: Overpriced if you cannot grab a bargain
...On choosing a hotel I tend to go for nice architecture and/or a historic building which has lots of interest, nooks and crannies to explore and rooms which you know you shouldn't go in but you do, however, after finding no available accommodation like this at short notice in London and needing to book quickly I opted for what seemed the next best option, the ThistleTower which overlooks Tower Bridge in London, (like you hadn't guessed)
Getting there from Kings Cross seemed like a hike but the tube takes you there after 2 changes at Bank and Monument to Tower Hill in around 10 minutes. (Circle or District lines will take you there).
Upon arriving from Tower Hill tube which is just a short walk from the hotel I was initially disappointed with the exterior which resembled a large municipal library built in the 1970's, overlooking such...

. . . early March and I’m in Liverpool. (Sing along to the tune of “Oh what a night”)
Anyway, I went up to Liverpool to watch a UEFA cup match last season and decided that while I was up there I would make the most of it and stay the night. I took... more
