We used this airline a couple of weeks ago on the way to and from Turkey. We didn’t book a holiday with them, only flights, and for me they weren’t the best flights we’ve had.

In a nutshell (the review’s probably more readable this way):

~’~’~ GOOD POINTS ~’~’~

* They are very child friendly, as we were boarding, my sister got given a fun pack to keep her occupied (crayons, books, activities etc), a pillow and a blanket.

* There are plenty of blankets available even for adults who might get cold, and staff are perfectly willing to hand them out.

* Friendly staff, they will listen to what you want and need and always remain in a good mood no matter how many people they’ve got calling them.

* Good in-flight entertainment: On the way there we watched Shrek2 and on the way back we watched The Day After Tomorrow. After this they had a good selection of shorter programmes, and also a wide choice of radio to listen to, although you have to buy a headset from them unless you have your own.

* The in-flight magazine was very good, with interesting articles.

* Plenty of opportunity to buy drinks and snacks just in case you got hungry.

* As our flight was at night, most people wanted to sleep, and turned off the main lights so people could sleep in darkness, which I thought was very considerate! Made it seem more comfortable!

~’~’~ BAD POINTS ~’~’~

* Virtually NO leg room, I mean I know this is normal on aeroplanes but this was very cramped, my knees were almost touching the seat in front. The charge per person for seats with extra legroom is £15 one way.

* There is an extra charge of £10 per person for a meal on the plane, which for our family would have meant £50 extra.. no thankyou very much!

* The TV screens weren’t amazing.. on the way there, we had the drop down one’s in front of your seat, but if you weren’t at exactly the right height and angle in front of it, the screen appeared dark and you couldn’t actually see anything. Whereas on the way back, the screens were normal tv screens, on the roof down the centre aisle, but if you were sat in a window seat, you had to crane your neck to see anything. I watched both movies very uncomfortably…

* The plane temperature was kept quite low, and even the blankets were quite small so didn’t warm you up much, we were very cold and couldn’t really get to sleep.

* I don’t know what the toilets were like because there was always a big queue for them.

-----> I personally didn’t think this was the best flight I’ve had, but it was ok, I mean it was clean and on time and it got us there I suppose!

I tend not to buy food cause I find it often tastes like dry cardboard, unless its a long haul flight then I got no choice :( Never flown with them before but I always find the leg-room to be very limited in economy. If its too cramped, I tend to lie down in the little hallway at the back that joins the two walkway's together - until I get told to return to my seat at least lol. ~~~ Vince

I always opt out of having the food when it's offered - unless it's quite a long flight as really do think plane food is awful! I've never flown with Thomas Cook but imagine you'll find the leg room to be limited on the majority of flights, Sarah x

Hmmm, I am suddenly reminded why I don't do charter. Commercial airlines are so much better, pricier but better.
