Flew to Turkey (Dalaman Airport), although I am an experienced flyer both Easy Jet/Ryan Air style cheap short flights plus longhaul including Russia\'s Aeroflot, and China\'s China Eastern which I had low expectations for this has got to be the worst experience ever. On the flight out out as we landed the plane smashed into the runway - I guess it would be the as if the pilot\'s height gauge was showing 10ft lower land level than we were actually at - this was in good weather, day time ????
The space between seats was incredibly small. I could not sit with my knees in front of me, I don\'t ever recall being this tightly squeezed into a seat - and I would not say I\'m particularly over the average male height.
Couldn\'t see the TV screens (1 every 10 rows or similar) so would have no idea how to put on a life jacket if I hadn\'t flown a hundred times before.
Although a short flight at only 4 and half hours seemed like double in the conditions provided.
Check in staff at Turkey were rude, unhelpful and although demanded £6 per KG over the 20kg of allowed luggage would not accept coins? Don\'t think they knew that pound notes has been abolished 23 years ago!
On the way back from Turkey most of the plane was chatting and excited about having a drink of tea as the milk in the resort can only be described as a \"pro biotic yogurt\" tasting liquid. It hadn\'t occurred to us at being only 6 rows from the front that they would run out of £1.80 cups of tea before they got to us.
It\'s true that price is generated from the demand which is why they can charge £1.80 for less than 30 \"Typhoo\" cups with hot water.
Do your research before you fly - is it worth going with a cheap looking flight once you\'ve added all the extras - luggage fees, drinks fees - remember you can\'t take your own liquids from home so you either have to queue up for 10 minutes at the airport for a can of drink or be ripped off on board.
As for Punctuality it actually left the airport an hour early - I think becuase they were trying to cost save and combine a BA flight with our plane to save both planes flying half full. This maybe why they didn't have enough food/drink onboard? Luckily as we had to return a car to the car hire in the airport we allowed more time than usuall to get to the airport where we were rushed through.
