Well, I'd rather hoped for better customer service than that. I've just had to pay a £25 surcharge to change a name on a ticket from Liz to Elizabeth.... in fact, they put a surcharge on the surcharge to make it £43!
As it turns out, I've had to do exactly the same thing with Easyjet - not a problem for them, and no charge, because after all, it's not like I'm changing the passenger - just correcting spelling.
Thomsonfly are trying to compete with Easyjet on European routes, but I for one will *never* book with ThomsonFly again. I'd hoped for better from them, given some reviews on this site, but perhaps that's indicative of people on the ground, rather than the call centre which I find completely shocking in its rudeness and unhelpfulness. Such customer service does not deserve to be rewarded. Easyjet will do just fine for me.
This is apparently a duplicate review. And it's not very good.

Sorry for the rating, but I am really confused here, there is no information whatsoever on the company, and I am guessing from the fact (having also read your other op) that the mistake was yours alone. I have travelled many many times with Thomson & used Thomson Fly, and on the rare occasion they have made an error on the booking they have rectified it immediately and free of charge with no quibble. If, as you indicate you are an experienced traveller, then surely you should know that the name on the booking form should be identical to that on your passport - if you think Liz to Elizabeth is confusing you should try remembering to use your partners first name (he never uses) rather than what he is known by. You should try booking with British / GB Airways - unless you pay top whack, even when travelling business class, they will NOT permit ANY changes to the ticket . i.e. if you get it wrong, on your head be it - you won't travel. You have a valid gripe of sorts, although the mistake was yours; if you update the op with some information on your booking / travelling experience with the company I will be only too happy to rerate. Also, looking at the EasyJet website, you have been lucky, their normal charges for ticket changes are £15 on-line and £20 over the phone.

Thanks for warning us, but you have only told us about one aspect, rather than giving a good arguement, supporting all views and raising several points, ease of booking, quality of flight etc. That is what would make a good arguement.
