In June I was looking for a bargain holiday, and 'Just' holidays by Thomson were suggested.
For around £200 we booked a holiday in Rhodes for a week, well aware that the main selling point of the company is that it is 'Just' a holiday - namely the flight and the accommodation.
The company promises excellent value holidays, with no unnecessary extras and no hidden costs.
The holiday was excellent, with basic clean accommodation, a peaceful setting and good value.
The brochure was very honest in the reviews it gave the hotel, and I would trust them again.
However, the holiday was flawed for a few reasons. If you go with a 'Just' holiday, be prepared to be treated like a second-class citizen by some Thomson staff. We were spoken to rudely, put at the back of the plane and my repeated pleas for a drink of water were ignored. If you go with Just you do not receive a meal on the plane - this is fine, but you should be offered the option of purchasing a meal if you wish. I believe this was an oversight by the company, and that they ordinarily offer the Just customers the option of a meal at extra cost.
Transfers are not included in the price, and you have a lower baggage limit than other customers.
We had an excellent holiday, but I think we ended up paying the same amount as if we had booked a regular holiday with Thomson, once we had added on the extras.
Not really a bargain at all. Just a holiday - and that's it. You don't even get treated well by Thomson staff - that must be one of the 'unnecessary extras'.
I would say that potential 'Just' consumers should investigate fully the extra costs (such as transfers) before they go. If it is still a good deal then go for it - but remember to take your own food!
