You can book a flight and a hotel and tours seperately to Thomson and cheaper too. Their only value add, is the airport transfer and local help from their rep. Alas, they do not even provide this in Malta. The airport transfer to the resort had seperate luggagevans to the coaches. The van carrying my suitcase dropped it in the street opposite the apartment and then left it unattended. When my coach arrived I rushed out to place it in a safe place. During this distraction my hand baggage including camcorder was stolen. I called the 24hour line immediately and they said that they could not contact the bus company or rep to check the coach. The next day, The rep Paul did not give essential holiday information during the welcome meeting and only wanted to sell excursions. When asked about finding the bag, that could only have been taken by known tourists, the bus company or the reps, he said "It was out of my hands". The guy on the 24 hour line had taken no action and it was only until Valerie arrived on desk that things improved, she was good, kept in contact by phone and asked about prescriptions that had been lost, unfortunately the damage had been done. The rep Paul did not offer to help contact the police, nor give the address or phone number. I would trust the reps as much as I could thrown them.
I used to recomend Thomson but it hasn't taken long for the new management to wreck the company. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
I sympathise, I too had a bag stolen actually from the Thomson Bus whilst in transit to my hotel, to be fair to Thomsons they were marvellous, although sadly I did not get it returned, despite having several hundred pounds worth of stuff in it, including my medication. Despite this, I still would not use another holiday company and holidays to Lanzarote certainly aren't cheaper booked independently, it would have cost me around three times as much. In order to get a VH you need to include much more information about the overall company, if you update, let me know and I will happily rerate. Possibly a candidate op for "buyer beware" category.
