I want to talk about Thomson Just holidays today. I actually work for Thomson so I have a bit of indepth knowledge about the product.
Customers are generally delighted with their holiday after booking a just holiday.
Just is Basically just a really good value for money option when traveling abroad.
When you book a Just holiday, the price includes your flight and accommodation.
Flight - Yes normally you sit at the back of the flight. If you do not pay for a meal, then no you wont get a meal. Now the staff do not treat you any differently, you are still a customer to them, they do not have any interests on how much you paid for the holiday. I have been on various flights and have received bad service, which is yes very annoying, but there is not a lot you can do, if the cabin crew are busy, they are busy.
Accommodation - I actually visited a Just accommodation in Lanzarote. It was an apartment, and I was very surprised. Having the knowledge of what you pay to go to this accommodation, it was well worth the money. It was only a 2J but I liked it better than most of the other apartments I visited. It was very clean, large spacious, and had all necessary equipment.
Just gives you generally a more independant holiday, it is for people who do not like being tied down to a package holdiay, but who dont want the hastle in finding somewhere to stay.
Now when you book your Just holiday, you will be offered the opportunity to take a meal onboard the flight. (prices per passenger)
Flight meals - £10.00 return
If you wish to get a transfer to and from the airport on your arival and return, you can book various methods of transport
Coach transfer - £15.00 return
Taxi - minimum about £25.00, prices vary from resort
Car hire - you can hire a car for the duration of your holiday, pick it up at airport and drop it back off - prices vary dependant on travel agency you book through and duration of carhire
Another difference is that baggage allowence is 15kg rather than normal 20kg, however you can pre-book extra baggage.
5kg extra baggage - £17.50
Now the only other difference is that when in resort you will not have a hotel rep. You will see a rep at the airport, and can ask any advice there, but Thomson will also give you their 24 hour helpline number so that if you need any help or assistance in resort, they are always there for you. If you wish to join the welcome meeting, they will give you a place and time to attend that and also give you a list of the Thomson Highlights available to you within resort.
Price.....Price can vary depending on resort,board,hotel standards, etc....You can even pick up just holidays at a basic of £99!! (on top add fligh supps, meals, transfers). (flight supps may or may not apply, depends on flight you will travel on).
Now one disadvantage is that you do not have child prices in the brochure so children will be charged adults prices...however, there are no under occupancy supplemnts in self catering apartments.
The accommodations dont tend to have a lot of facilities or any added luxuries, normally it wont carry too many frills...the apartmant i visited had a bar and resurant, pool, sun loungers, central location, it was perfect. As long as you dont expect there to be a lot of activities within the complex, you will be plesantly delighted, however, reffer to web site or brochure to check what the accommodations have to offer. Just accommodations are available in various resorts, long haul and short haul, summer or winter.
I advise you to try out the just holidays, they really are fantastic. Some of the accommodations are even featured in our main brochures also...so its not as if you are going to get a bad standard of accommodation, just because you paid a little cheaper...after all, we all love a bargain!!! :)
