Thomson group, My first holiday with Thomson was absolutely fantastic, we enjoyed every waking moment, and we booked and flew to Sidari in Corfu. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our hotel wasn’t a huge hotel, only built on two levels with a pool but excellent value for money. Our room was exactly as it was described in the Thomson summer sun broacher, bright roomy and very pretty. We had maid service every morning and came back to a spotlessly clean room, straight after breakfast everyday. Our meals were waiter service, and couldn’t be faulted We used to look forward so much to our next meal the minute we had left the table.
Our trips out were fantastic service, and our tour guide was amazing, her knowledge of Corfu and sidari was exceptional. She was so funny we laughed all day. This holiday I thought was so pleasurable we had to do some thing similar last year.
We booked another holiday with the Thomson group, believing that we couldn’t go wrong, especially as the year before we had such an amazing holiday exactly how it was sold to us in the broacher
How wrong we were. We decided to go to Ibiza. A beach club for my son, just the three of us so this holiday was going to be especially planned with my son in mind. Lots of entertainment for him, football, where a professional would coach him and he could play his favourite game with the new friends he would make there. Darts, we could all have a game with him, water volleyball, beach volleyball, and rifle shooting in proper shooting ranges also crazy golf and table tennis. This holiday was going to be great we were all looking forward to it.
When we got there, we had to wait 5 hours for our room, we wasn’t appropriately dress for this long wait, but had to make do until our room had become available. Not something we could blame Thomson for directly, but were becoming increasingly annoyed as there were hundreds of rooms available, but being typically British didn’t complain.
We eventually got to our room hot hungry and tired, just in time for our evening meal, which to our delight was lovely. We decided we would go out and explore our surroundings. It was beautiful we couldn’t fault it. My son wanted to play football, although he was over thirteen like the broacher had stated we found he wasn’t old enough to play as all the people that were playing were men mostly over the age of 21. We were told if he could wait around someone may allow him to join their game after they’ve finished. Same thing with archery, rifle shooting beach and water volleyball. Although he was over 13 he wasn’t old enough. The only thing left was crazy golf and darts. Much to my sons disappointment. We later discovered that the holiday we had thought was good for families with teenage children was a 18-30 holiday club, and to make matters worse a German one at that. Most of our evening entertainment was conducted in German.
Being typically British when we did complain, we were informed that Thomson were told two years earlier, that this beach club wasn’t suitable for teenagers.
In all fairness to Thomson after numerous letters to them we were reimbursed £200.00 of our £1400.00 of which we paid to go to Ibiza.
Needless to say we are going back to sidari in Corfu later this year with Thomson

aw what a bad event. such a shame they booked you on one of those "sex holidays" 18-30 club. aw a shame, seems like a lot of money (and stress no doubt) it cost you. will avoid thompson! :( x
