Last year i took my partner, daughter and son on holiday to Feuventuaventura. This was our first holiday together for 7 years since i had split from my childrens father so was, therefore, really looking forward to this holiday.
We paid around £200 each for a self catering package deal and was not expecting absolute luxury with the price we paid. The apartments were basic, but clean and the site itself was very nice.
Three nights into the holiday there was a storm which resulted in an absolute down pour during the night. My partner woke to find water pouring through the ceiling and the light fittings. The floor was one huge puddle. My children were sleeping in the room where the water was and i was horrified that one of them might have got up in the night, stood in the water and switched on a light!!
Naturally we phoned the Thompson Help Desk who could do nothing for us that night but told us a Rep would be straight to the room to see us first thing in the morning. You guessed it, by lunch time i was so angry because i was not willing to waste my holiday sitting in my room waiting for the Rep to turn up. We decided to go to the reception ourselves and find out what was going on. They didnt have a clue about any thing that had happened. They said they would look into it and i said that i wanted new accommodation and i was going out and expected this to be sorted on my return.
Guess what again. Nothing had happended. I found myself getting quite irrate with the Rep, which is totally out of character for me, but this seemed the only way to get things done.
Eventually we were given a new room and watched from the balcony as our old romm had a bit of paint slapped on it and moved someone in two days later.
On reflection these things happen and it did not spoil our holiday, but we NEVER had an apology from Thompson, we wrote a long letter explaining what happended and never received a reply, and the Rep avoided us like the plauge for the rest of the holiday and not once did he apologise.
I feel totally wronged by all this and will, therefore, NEVER use Thompson again and will tell anyone that listens not to use them too.
