*Thomsonfly- Premium Service* The holiday was booked via Portland Direct to the Maldives in December 2007. It is a normal 10.5 hour flight, but after booking we were notified that this would operate both outbound and inbound via Gatwick. We were flying from Manchester so we upgraded to the Premium Service on this occasion. Check in We arrived at Manchester airport in plenty of time. There was no separate check in desk as stated. So we stood in line and checked in with the rest of the passengers. However this was at a First Choice check in desk (Thomson and First choice have now joined -even ... more

Advantages Advantages good service from start to finish

    Disadvantages Disadvantages hidden costs

We have recently returned from our holiday in Cyprus, and both ways we travelled with Thomsonfly Airlines which I have to say was a pretty comfortable and painless experience from start to finish. As this was part of a package I can't say how much it would cost to travel with the airline, but our whole holiday for four cost around £1500 for a week. We travelled on a Boing 767 - 200 which seemed to have capacity for about 240 economy passengers. On both flights the aircraft was full but that didn't stop the good service. The seats are arranged with three either side of the aisle. These are very ... more

Advantages Advantages Leather seats, professional staff, decent room

I flew with Thomson to Egypt as part of a package holiday in November 2007, travelling from East Midlands Airport to Sharm El Sheikh. The flight was due to depart at 10.30 in the morning so check in opened at 8.30 and we arrived around fifteen minutes after that. Check in was quick, it wasn't busy at that time in the morning, but the lady on the desk was fast and efficient. We boarded the plane around half an hour before it was due to depart so it gave us some time to settle in. The plane wasn't huge, the seating configuration was 3x3 with one aisle, but it had leather seats and there was ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages price tag when seats in main cabin have enough room

At over 6 long flights have always been an uncomfortable experience. On booking my last Holiday to Mexico I was given the option to upgrade my seat to be seated in the premium cabin, this option came with a £149 price tag. A small price to pay for all the extras I was told I would be given along with the room I would have. When we first got on the plane I was very impressed with the leg room, however during the flight I left my seat to go and chat with friends that were sitting in the standard cabin. The seats here were as comfortable, and the leg room as sufficient as my seat that I had paid ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Don't honour their tickets, "alternative flights" a joke, refuse to fully compensate,

We booked a flight to Montenegro for summer 2010 with Thomson Airlines . A couple of months later Thomson told us they had decided to no longer fly to Montenegro and offered us an "alternative" flight to a different country on a different day. They refused to reimburse our non-refundable villa deposit. On 12th February 2010 we booked and paid for a Thomson airline flight to Montenegro for two adults and a child. The cost was £ 797.39. Once we had received our "Flights Booking Confirmation" email, (click here to view email) we booked our villa in Montengro. We also booked a hotel at our ... more
