The hotel has an extremely fresh and modern appearance and does not disappoint inside, a vast car park with plenty of spaces that is complimentary for guests.
As you enter the hotel through two glass doors you are greeted by the Glass Atrium right in front where you can get yourself a refreshment or quick snack.

The interior of the hotel is stylish and contemporary giving you a Mediterranean feel with fantastic marble floors and magnificent carpets decorated throughout.
Check-in at the hotel is guaranteed for 2pm, however when we arrived on the Saturday for our one night stay the majority of us were unable to check into our rooms until after 2.30pm as the rooms were still not ready. When we finally accessed our room the throws were missing and you could tell the rooms had been finished in a rush.
Included in the cost of our break was:- Bed and Breakfast in a twin or double room Dinner on Saturday Evening Complimentary Morning Newspaper Mineral Water and Milk complimentary in the room Robes, Slippers and towels Welcome refreshements and show round Use of the Spa treatment relaxation area with complimentary drinks Use of the gym, exercise classes, pool, spa pool, sauna and steam room. Free Car Parking Free high speed wireless Internet Access Complimentary tea and coffee in your room.
Check-out at the hotel is 11am and you bill is settled when you check-out.
*~*~Spa*~*~ We were booked into the hotel for the 1 night min spa break which cost £99.00 per person based on 2 people sharing and your chosen treatment was at an additional charge. As we were unable to check- in to our hotel earlier we were advised that we could make full use of the spa from our arrival at 10.30am which was an advantage. I had booked in for the Full Body Massage at 11am so we dropped out bags at Reception where they were stored securely and we went straight to the Spa. The spa is located next to the pool which is visible from the entrance of the hotel, you are required to sign into the Spa for security reasons. The treatment rooms are located upstairs and have a separate reception area for you to book in for your treatment. I was booked in for the Unwind Full Body Massage at a discounted rate of £45.00 and once I arrived for the appointment I was directed to the changing rooms and provided with a key for the lockers. Inside the locker was a fluffy robe and a pair of slippers and each changing room contains a shower and sink. Once changed I was then directed to the relaxation room which had comfortable loungers to sit on and complimentary water to keep yourself hydrated, a range of magazines were also on offer to read whilst waiting for your treatment. When it is time for your treatment your therapist will call your name and collect you, ensuring that you have completed your medical screening questionnaire. You are then taken to a private room for your treatment and asked about your health and how you feel so that they can concentrate on specific areas that cause discomfort. The therapist ask you to then remove your gown and lie on the bed with just your panties on and you are covered by towels, this is all done once the therapist has left the room. The therapist then returns to the room to begin your treatment.
Once you have had your treatment you are welcome to relax in the relaxation room after your treatment and of course you have full use of the facilities downstairs which include the swimming pool, steam room and sauna.
*~*~Rates and Reservations~*~* For our stay we had a different rate to those advertised we paid in total £142.00 and this included our treatment. Generally the refresher breaksare based on two nights and are from £90.00 per room per night for Dinner, Bed and Breakfast, for peak travel periods there are varying rates.
Children under the age of 16 stay free of charge in their parents room and £8.00 is the cost for their breakfast. Children ages 4 and under there is no charge. If children do require a room of their own it is £25.00 per child per night including breakfast but there must be a minimum of 2 children per room.
You can benefit for special rates and offers if you sign up on the website to their newsletter.
*~*~Eating at the Hotel~*~* We had our evening meal in the Restaurant and the hotel had sectioned the area off for us for our private party which was a real bonus as I tipped soup over my friend!
We had to choose from:-
Starters Chilled Galia and Canteloup Melon with strawberries and champagne sorbet (Vegetarian option) Freshly made soup
Main Courses Baked Fillet of Scottish Salmon with fresh asparagus, wilted spinach, lemon and white wine sauce
Supreme of Corn Fed Chicken with Italian pancetta, wild mushrooms, tarragon cream sauce
Vegetarian Option
Desserts Glazed Lemon Tart with clotted cream
Chocolate Fondant with cinder toffee, espresso ice cream
Dinner is served between 6:30 pm to 9:15 pm (Friday to Saturday)
Wine is not included with the meal and a bottle of wine averages at about £20.00, but your meal is served with chilled water free of charge.
The food was superb we all had vegetables to share which included Cauliflower, Carrots, Potatoes and Butternut Squash it was a really nice combination with the main dish.
For examples of the menus, I recommend looking at the Shire Hotels website as it contains full details of the Breakfast Menu, Sample Lunch and Dinner Menus, Wine Lists and the Restaurant Menu which is sure to have you drooling!
*~*~The Rooms~*~*
All rooms are decorated to an executive standard with a twin or double bed. All rooms are en suite and contain a separate shower and bath as well as vanity area, complimentary shampoo and conditioner are provided in the hotel along with soap and towels and a robe for use during your stay.
The rooms contain plenty of storage space and inside the fitted wardrobes are a full length mirror and plenty of hanging space.
A full length ironing board is provided in each room and is stored in the wardrobe along with an iron and spare pillows.
Each room has a colour, remote control television with preset radio and satellite channels as well as a BOSE sound system in each room. A great feature is that the tv can play the sound into the bathroom and you'll find the volume located above the sink on the wall.
The room has a mini fridge underneath the television and contains a complimentary carton of milk and bottle of mineral water, in the cupboard next to it are tea and coffee making facilities which include Twinnings Tea both traditional and herbal, Coffee and Galaxy Hot Chocolate Drink. A small flapjack and fruit cake are complimentary with your hot drinks.
In the room is a small step which leads to a lounge area with a 2 seater sofa, desk with large leather office chair and a large window offering a view of Leeds.
The hotel rooms are tastefully decorated in whites and blues and browns and look really elegant. A high powered hair drier can be found in the drawer next to the desk.
Air conditioning is in each room and can be adjusted to your required temperature and is easy to operate.
In the bathroom you will find 2 glasses and along with the tea and coffee making facilities are 2 china cups for your use.
*~*~Overall Opinion~*~* I am extremely pleased with this hotel it offers a great deal of treatments and it is not overcrowded in the pool area. The staff were extremely helpful and apologised profusely for the delay in us being provided access to our rooms, my only complaint with the hotel is that they rushed the rooms and this therefore led me to the conclusion that just to get the room ready it resulted in sloppy work. I would not let this put me off as it was just a 10 minute transfer time from the hotel into Leeds City Centre. A great hotel if you want to escape from it all for the weekend.

Quick review of Thorpe Park Hotel & Spa, Leeds
I stayed at a suite here with my partner and son - what a superb hotel this is.
The staff at the hotel made us immediately welcome and everyone spoke both to the 'adults' and directly to my son which he loved.
The pool and spa were heaven, the room was cleanded like a new pin and delightfully spacious.
The absolute star of the stay was the restaurant though, the food was divine and the restaurant staff so courteous and helpful - really nothing was too much.
I would absolutely recommend this to anyone wanting a relaxing few days and don't be put off taking your children, they are as welcome as you are. ...
