Do you like white-water rafting?

Advantages: Good, clean, cheap
Disadvantages: A fair way out of Middlesbrough, limited restaurants nearby

Introduction During a recent work trip to Middlesbrough, my colleague and I needed somewhere cheap to stay, and after a trawl through the possibilities on the Internet, came up with this Premier Travel Inn. Amazingly, it is hard to find reasonably priced hotels in the Middlesbrough area, at least ones that were not already booked up. Although the cost of hotels is covered by work, we need to keep costs to a minimum as far as possible. We looked at the choice of Premier Travel Inns in the area, having stayed at a number of satisfactory and cheap Travel Inns in the past. There are three, unfortunately none of which are in Middlesbrough itself. This one is actually in Thornaby, rather than Stockton-on-Tees itself (although it is listed as being in Stockton-on-Tees/Middlesbrough on the website), there is another in Stockton-on-Tees itself ...

Thorpe Park.

Advantages: Mega Fun
Disadvantages: Rides do breakdown a lot.

Thorpe Park is a small UK Theme Park situated in the Chertsey, Staines. It doesn't get many visitors compared to some other parks but without a doubt it is home to some of the UK's best rides. **The Park** Thorpe Park is one of few theme parks in England and has to battle tough competition from places like Alton Towers and Chessington. It is home to some of the most known rides in England such as Nemesis Inferno and Colossus, which is known worldwide in theme park world. Thorpe Park opened many years ago now and started off with rides for little children like the little car things that go round a little track etc.. it was quite a while though before they got their first rollercoaster. Thorpe Park is currently closed for the winter and will reopen on March 15th with whats tipped to be the UK's best rollercoaster. Its been going ...

Thorpe Park for a laugh!

Advantages: Fun for adults, fun for children, good day out
Disadvantages: Overpriced, queing times

I have been visiting Thorpe Park since I was a child. The last time I visited was last year so that's primarily what I'll be basing this review on. The park is situated in Stains, Surrey and is open from February to November each year. I go by car, it is all very well signed up and easy to find. You can also get there easily by train, where you can then get a shuttle bus to and from the station and the park. Coach trips also run regularly from London Victoria. The park opens between 9.30 - 10.00am depending on when you visit and closes between 5.00 - 10.00pm depending again on when you visit. The last time I visited we got there at about 10.30am and had no problems parking, although queing for tickets wasn't much fun. Tickets cost us a ghastly £35.00 each (although I found out afterwards that you can get adult tickets for £26 ...
