On walking into the pub

On walking into the pub you can see the bar straight in front of you, and a dance floor which you have to walk across to get to the bar, the dance floor is only small and many people do not use this they usually just dance anywhere on the floor.

To the left of the main door you have like a podium sort of area, where you have quite a few seats. Its just a plain area with seating and a tables in the area. The bar goes round the whole of the pub. Then at the end of the bar you have both sets of toilets and to the right of the toilets is where they set up the disco or any entertainment they have on.

Then you come to some steps and down them steps is some more seating areas, I do not use that area much as I felt more out of the way there.

The pub is nicely decorated and the floors are all laminated flooring. At one point the floors used to be awful, as your feet would stick to the floor, but since they got the laminated flooring down it is a lot better.

The staff

The staff seem pretty friendly there, they usually have 3-4 staff members on but the pub does get pretty busy so the staff are always on the go. They do not really get time to chat to people but they serve you quickly and politely which is all you really need.

The prices

The prices are pretty reasonable and for a pint of cider its £3 and for a pint of lager its £2.90, these prices may have changed since I last went in as the other pub I go in regularly have changed their prices. But if they have it will have only have changed by about 10p a pint.

Entertainment

Well thias pub used ty be a pretty lively pub on a night time, but it has changed over the years, and now it closes at around 8pm most nights even on a weekend. The l;ast time I was here was a Thursday night and it is the only night it stays open till late, they have a karaoke on on this night till around 11:30pm apart from that the only other entertainment they have on is on a Sunday afternoon which is another karaoke.

This is a pub really where you would go just for a chat and a catch up with people, its certainly not a great pub for entertainment.

Toilets

The toilets are a little shabby there are 3 cubicles usually pretty clean, but could be better as they do not always smell that good, the locks on a couple of the doors are also broken so you have to hold the door shut yourself. However it is always stocked with toilet roll and soap, and they have 3 sinks there so you never have to wait to wash your hands.

Suitable for wheelchairs

Not really, there is a single step to get into the door of the pub, which to be honest you could easily push a wheelchair up into the pub as there is also plenty of space in the pub to move a wheelchair around, although there is no disabled toilets so you could manage in there until they needed the toilet loll.

Why you may like it

  • Decent prices
  • Good atmosphere
  • Plenty of seating area
  • Decent entertainment when on.

Why you may not like it

  • No disabled toilets
  • Closes early most days
  • No locks on toilets

My overall opinion

Well despite the way the pub may sound in my review, its not all good, but the pub is actually quite nice, the atmosphere in the pub is great, and the pub is always filled with friendliness.

The pub is really good when they do have their entertainment on, and the pub is always busy no matter what they have on. On an afternoon its always buzzing with shoppers that just nip in for a couple of drinks.

I will say its not my first choice of pub, but if you are in the centre of Leeds and the pub is open it is well worth a visit for a quick pint or two.
