Arguably the most scenic railway line in the UK

Advantages: Impressive scenery
Disadvantages: Cold carriages, weather can be a factor in spoiling views, not many services

I travelled from Dingwall to Kyle and back in January this year. The summer service may well be different therefore from the one in operation during the winter months. It's safe to say that the rolling stock isn't the operating company's best equipment. The twin cars used on both the outbound and return journeys (a change of set was carried out at Kyle) both suffered from poor (or in the case of the return trip, non-existent) heating - the driver sympathised with us but could only report the fault and hope it was fixed for future customers. The seats were reasonably comfortable for what was a one-way trip of just over 2 hours, although the seats with tables in 1st Class are the best bet, allowing a little more leg room and space to put bags, etc. The guard was friendly and tickets can be bought on the train (a handy option since ...

Whats Wrong with Jeremy Kyle?

Advantages: You will feel like your life is amazing
Disadvantages: too many shell suits for your brain to handle

ha ha ha ha ha, I've just been reading the views about Jeremy Kyle and I've not laughed so much in ages!!!! Jeremy everyone despises you....that is of course except me. This very morning I was eating toast watching your show, chuckling at the mis-fortune of others and it got me thinking. Despite the fact you are quite obviously an egocentric hypocrite, I do feel you are serving the British public well. heres why: 1) Everyone likes to dislike something, for me its liver and sweetcorn, for many it appears to be you. This is a good thing because it teaches us what we don't like. That means when we find something we do like, we appreciate it more. 2) The people on your show are fantastic......never have I met so many disfunctional people in one small area. except maybe at the house of lords......oh yeah and this one time round at my ...

Misery. And fighting. The Jeremy Kyle Show

Advantages: Daily Express-baiting madness
Disadvantages: Daily Express-baiting madness

Everyone?s heard of the Jeremy Kyle Show (ITV 2) by now. A judge has called it a form of human bear-baiting and it recently caused another furore by ?inadvertently? broadcasting a swear word. The format is simple enough. Kyle, who looks like a cross between a particularly miffed warthog and a premiership footballer whose name I don?t know, invites contestants (?guests? is too genteel a word) onto the show to thrash out deeply personal problems in front of a TV audience of a few million, in exchange for his sagely advice and a night in a cheap hotel in Manchester with free run of the mini-bar (that?s probably not true, by the way). The problems typically consist of alcoholism, drug dependency, ?am I the real father? scenarios, ?my daughter is going off the rails? narratives, ?Mum, your being a 70-year-old stripper is quite embarrassing ...
