Advantages: perfect city to be inspired by architecture, culture, shopping and fine cuisine Disadvantages: just too many tourists, hope this review wont bring too many extra ones
...by their importance but rather by random, based on the literary quotes which I found. Depending on the reception of this review, I might write further literary reviews of other Paris sights, there is still plenty of material left.

A VIEW FROM NOTRE DAME
-------------------------------
To gain a first impression of the city layout we consult Victor Hugo's View from Notre Dame - from the Raven's Perspective: "At the centre the Isle de la Cité, which we imagine as a giant turtle: under its roof-grey carapace it stretches its paws, the scaly brick bridges. To the left the solid, thorny trapezium of the QuartierLatin, as if made of one single stone. To the right the wide semicircle of the new town, relaxed by gardens and outstanding buildings. The three districts - Cité, QuartierLatin and new town, are veined by network...

...(well I must specify that I'm not english)
Well fot this second opinion in ciao uk I thought I can write about the city I live in since I'm 2 years old...
Paris is a beautiful place and there is a lot of thing to see there.
So I will began to introduce you the places I prefer :
1)Paris V, or "quartierLatin"
Famous and known as the students place.
All the best highschool or university are in Paris V: La Sorbonne, Henry IV, Louis le grand, etc etc...
But there is not all.
The Boulevard Saint-Michel is a nice long street full of shop and restaurants.
What do you prefer ? Japonese ? Chinese ? French ? Mexican or Italian food?
Whatever you'll find your happiness there.
And the greatest is that the prices are quite cheap (as the majority of customers are young students ;) )
After a good lunch you can walk on the Jardin du Luxembourg...

I'll start by saying that Paris really is a cosmopolitan, ethnically diverse and luxurious city. It is a lot smaller than London in comparison, but it is easier to navigate, the air seems a lot cleaner and the metro (underground rail system)is on time! In this sense, it is perfect for a weekend break as there are lots of things to do in a moderately compact area. I would personally suggest travelling on the Eurostar to get to Paris as opposed to flying. If you have never been there then the Eurostar is a nice experience that is smooth and compfortable. It also delivers you to Gare Du Nord which is much more hassle free in terms of getting to your hotel. The distance to travel...
