Advantages: Only 3 and a half hours from Gatwick, Friendly locals, views you must see before you die Disadvantages: Airport is not the best
First of all let me explain the airport. Zante airport is notorious for being a nightmare, up until summer 2005 it was a very small terminal with one conveyor belt for 3 incoming flights worth of luggage in one go, and a departure lounge (if you can call it that) with no seats and a small kiosk that sells food and drink. In the summer of 2005 a new arrivals terminal was built. It has 3 conveyor belts now and the space around them is far larger. The luggage still takes quite a while to get off of the plane and onto the conveyor but you have space to walk around and go to the toilet. Up until September 2006 departures has not changed at all, it looks like it will happen, but knowing what the Greeks are like it will take some time! Advantages: Nightlife Disadvantages: bit expensive
I went here last summer we had the best time ever, I would recommend you hire out quad bikes for the whole week it will get you around a lot easier, You dont have to walk around all the time in the hot weather, The clubs were not massive the were average, The two largest ones were club zero and badboys, Zero had more of the dance and house music, were badboys had more rnb and hip hop,
The place is quite expensive, mainly during the day time, I remeber ordering KFC, i ordered a zinger tower meals, The lady then said $3.50, i gave her the money and she just gave me a burger, i was really shocked, but there are other local restaurant that do have great and reasonably priced food,
Nightlife is awsome, everyones partying till late and the strips is all lighted up and you can go to the clubs with your quad bikes. It set out very simply ...

Advantages: up all night, fun party time! Disadvantages: noisy!
I visited Laganas in Zante (Zaknythos) in July 2008. I had heard some pretty bad things about the town, as a boy was killed when bouncers threw him down some a steep staircase the week before I flew out. We flew with Thomas Cook which was, as always, pleasent as ever. Our group of 6 were 18 so obviously we wanted to have fun whilst in Zante.
WHERE WE STAYED-
We stayed in the Alexander Hotel (also known as Alexander the Great) around 10 minutes away from the airport and as most places, it was not as described as in the brochure. We were greeted by around 20 teenage drunk teenage boys even though it was around 7 o'clock in the morning. We soon found out that our hotel had a 24/7 bar serving alcohol the whole time- not such a good idea if you want to sleep! The rooms were tiny with three small beds, and a small balcony off it ...
