I'm sure there are many people who will comment on this review that they love their local Toby Carvery, go religiously, and never have bad service. These are the people who will say it is unfair for me to go once, and then review this place. They will moan that I am letting one bad experience cloud my views of an entire chain, and that the poor people in the south east trying to make their living running such a place will suffer because of the cruel ... ...To these people, I say "Tough". To me, the fact that I went (yes, just the once), and it had such a profound impression on me after that one visit that I had enough material to write 1700 words on it is enough. Based on the experience I had, I would not return, ever. I would not give it another go. There are no second chances when somewhere is this awful. Above all, I would certainly not recommend it to my friends.
We went for a Christmas lunch ...

Advantages: cheap, nice food, good service Disadvantages: waiting list, can be quite noisy
The Toby Carvery is a cheap and cheery place to have a nice Sunday lunch. My local one is in Ewell and we like it so much I reckon we go there at least once a month. For around £8 you get a choice of three freshly roasted joints:
1) British and Irish roast beef
2) French trimmed honey and mustard glazed gammon
3) British turkey breast
Plus, a choice of 8 seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and a selection of gravy and sauces. It ... ...for the family to have Sunday lunch. If you don't fancy the carvery there are many alternatives including: lamb in minted gravy, beef and ale pie and fillet of cod. There is also a large selection of deserts available, including: chocolate fudge cake, treacle sponge, cherry pie and many more. The waiters and waitresses are always friendly and the service really sharp. The only downside is because the toby carvery is such good value for money it does ...

Advantages: Excellent food, a nice pint and all reasonably priced. What more could you want. Disadvantages: During busy periods, such as Sundays you may have to wait for a seat.
A traditional pub and restaurant that serves British food. I really enjoy eating here and will continue to visit many times in the future.
The decor inside is very welcoming and gives a warm feeling. The walls are covered in comical pictures that have been seen throughout the years in British history. The seats are comfy and the pub is split into two parts. One for relaxing with friends where you can enjoy a drink, and the other part is the restaurant.
... ...cooked meal from, or if you wish you can choose the carvery. I have never ate any of the other food, I always get the carvery. The restaurant is known for their delicious carvery and I wouldn't pass up an opportunity to eat from it. You firstly select your meat, either gammon, turkey, or a combination. They also offer pie's as an alternative. You can then get as much yorkshire puddings and veg as you like, and you can go back for more. They offer ...

Advantages: Have large round tables, so can cater for whole families Disadvantages: Being able to smell the lovely roast dinner while you are waiting to be seated.
Toby Carvery - Thanet. We love it - probably go there about 3 times a year. My parents really enjoy it there, and as their birthdays are within a couple of days apart, we take them there with the grandchildren, children, partners etc. Last time we went there were 10 of us and a highchair for my nephew.
We waited just over half an hour when we arrived, which considering they estimated 40 mins, was pretty accurate. The staff were friendly, helpful ...

Advantages: Not having to cook it yourself Disadvantages: None as far as I can see
...There is one thing in life I love and that is eating out, which I do quite alot, hence the overweight me.
The TobyCarvery on a sunday is absolutely superb. You can eat as much as you want.
The carvery is set up very nice with the chefs behind the counter carving up the joints. They had a wide choice, beef, turkey and ham. I had a slice of all three. I had Yorkshire Pudding and a ball of stuffing. The vegetables were a huge choice as well, carrots, leeks, swede, roast potatoes, new potatoes,cauliflower cheese. On the side were many different sauces, horseradish, mustard and cranberry. You help yourself to all these. If you wish to have gravy you can and they had two flavours, ordinary and onion.
You can go back for more vegetables if you require but this filled me and was more than ample.
We didnt have a starter but there were...

Advantages: Clean, tidy and friendly Disadvantages: Next to a main road so possibly a little noisy
...One day last summer my partner and I had decided to take a trip to our favourite attraction, Monkey World, but had decided to make a weekend of it. All we needed was somewhere to stay overnight that was within our price bracket.
Cue me searching the internet for bed and breakfasts in the vicinity and that was when I found Innkeeper's Lodge.
We decided that their Bournemouth lodge, despite being about half an hour's drive from Monkey World, was ideally situated and we booked for the night.
The lodge itself is positioned behind the Toby Cavery and Burger King on the Cooper Dean roundabout and finding it was easy - even without the satnav.
Check in is in the TobyCarvery (as most lodges are attached to a restaurant type pub) and is from 3pm onwards although they did let us check in early as the room was ready.
The service we ave...

UPDATE
~~~~~~~~
After having eaten in this establishment a lot of times over the years, I have to say that it is very good most days. At least if you get here late on a Sunday evening you will still be guaranteed a dinner without pre-booking. The food starts to run out after 7pm.
The 'very limited' seating area outside comprises one pine table with benches on edge of car park....
Our baby son has always been on the tall side. He was born at 9.7lbs and grew out of his rear facing infant carrier seat pretty quickly.
So when it came to buying a seat the next size up (all of which were forward facing), at first we were... more
