Toledo was a let-down. It had been built up in guidebooks to be a wonderful, beautiful place, but in reality it was quite unattractive, boring and overly-touristic. It wasn't like visiting a town, it was like visiting a museum, with so many other day-tripping tourists wandering around. When I went, in April, the weather didn't help - it was cold and rainy. Miserable. The best part was the bus trip from and to Madrid (which was very cheap and only took an hour!). On a sunny day maybe Toledo is nicer, but I think even still it's just a boring tourist-trap.

I find it hard to believe that anyone would think Toledo unattractive or boring. I suspect you spent very little time actually there, and maybe didn't venture beyond the train station...
