Advantages: A unique city, full of history and character Disadvantages: Racy reputation, some grim districts
. Nearby, thrusting back through the town from the VieuxPort is the start of La Canebière, a broad boulevard that is Marseille's most prestigious - perhaps only prestigious - thoroughfare for shopping, entertainment, fashionable restaurants and upmarket hotels.
Further afield, there is a public park at the Palais de Longchamp, which includes an art museum and observatory, and another at Borély, which includes a botanical garden.
When we visited it, we found Borély Park entirely given over to a Pétanque (boules) tournament, apparently the Mondial (world championship), with hundreds of matches being played, on every open space and along every pathway, in defiance of fixed signs declaring "Jeux de ballons interdit" (Ball Games Forbidden). Advantages: Beautiful part of Marseille Disadvantages: Can have a few undesirables.
The Old Port is definitely worth a visit; it it situated in the centre of Marseilles, at the end of the famous Canebiere road. Its a great place to walk around, especially at twilight when the street and boat lights come on and the sunset reflects off the water. Some of the cafes with views of the boats are great to lounge around in and people watch, though they can get a bit pricey. The Old Port also has some of the nicest restaurants serving the famous "Bouillabaisse" a complicated but very tasty fish soup. Disadvantages however include lots of the local riffraff mooching around pestering lone girls or begging for money. The Old Port is also the palce to go for boat trips into the islands which are good fun. ...
Advantages: Contains minerals and vitamins Disadvantages: May not like the taste

The tonic is supposed to build up children fast, although whether this means in size or in general good health is not made clear. I assume that it means their general good health and immune system, because with the growing concern regarding child obesity, I don't think it would be a good idea to sell ...
