When in Romas (Tony's, that is)

Advantages: Walking distance from home
Disadvantages: Not worth walking to

Let's get one thing straight right away. Tony Romas doesn't have a restaurant in Edinburgh but there is a newly opened one in Livingston. Can the ciao database be wrong? It hardly bears thinking about. Anyway, Livingston is close enough to Edinburgh as far as I'm concerned and it should be for you too. Phase 3 of Livingston's town centre opened just in time for Xmas last year and one of the features was an outdoor 'promenade' of sorts featuring a number of restaurant chains including Nandos, Wagamama, Chiipolatas (or some such Mexican-type thing) among others. Among the others is Tony Romas. I can't say I was all that tempted by chicken piri-pri or guacamachillilitos, so Tony Romas it was to be. Livingston is just the place for a corporate branded, characterless chain restaurant - we don't do quaint or cute here. So shiny ...

Toni & Guy

Advantages: Top Service, Professional
Disadvantages: None

Toni & Guy I have visited a few of Toni & Guy salons, so I now feel that I can write this review. In 1963 Toni & Guy first salon opened in Clapham London. From there on in, there was no stopping them, nearly every big town has one. If I am correct they also have or are expanding abroad. If you have visited 1 or more Toni & Guy salon?s you will notice that they are all the same, from the chairs to the sinks, the walls to the floor. Each salon is identical, being the inside. They have a uniform of Black and White. Black bottoms with a White top, they do have their own logo t-shirts in which some staff do wear. The salons I have visited ? Chichester in West Sussex, owned by a man called Jeff. Basildon in Essex, owned by a man called Billy. This opened in August 1999. Billy is sponsoring Miss Essex at the moment ...

Review of Toni and Guy

To Roam aroun Rome by a Roma Pass!

Advantages: Queue jumping, don't have to worry about entrance fees
Disadvantages: Can not be cost effective

The Roma Pass was something a work colleague mentioned to me, although she did not know the name just there was some card thing that gets you benefits. So I looked up things to do in Rome and eventually came across the website for the Roma Pass through a link from another website. The Roma Pass website is: http://www.romapass.it/?l=en The website gave me a great insight as to what the card was, there are 2 types of cards, so it explains what both offer and how much they cost. The standard (red) Roma Pass costs 23 Euros, and the Roma & Piu (blue) Pass costs 25 Euro's. The website goes on to have tabs for museums, events, a virtual tour, information, download and buy. I opted not to buy ours online, and decided I would get them when there. The website sells the cards with this strap line "The Cards that offers you ...
