...when mash and air first opened in manchester, it was a breath of fresh air...one of the first bursts of london-style hip eating to have penetrated north of birmingham..and for locals it was a convenient and relaxing place to eat. The design of the restaurant is great - it's in a corner warehouse on canal street and has a very spacious modern feel...(ask for a banquette table if there's more than 2 of you) There are 3 levels to the complex - mash bar on the 1st floor, mash restaurant on the 2nd and air restaurant on the 3rd. The Mash restaurant is very affordable serving easy meals that appeal to everyone - including delicious wood-fire pizzas with inventive toppings. Air is more upmarket, specialising in Asian/French fusion cooking - although unfortunately the original chef - the gifted young JAson Atherton has moved on to London... Read review

Advantages: Quite cheap, excellent beaches, hotels and nightclubs, many historic sites
Disadvantages: Might get too warm, please don't visit the north.

...Being a cypriot myself I can assure you that anyone who visits this island will have the time of their life. The weather is excellent and during the summer, temperatures reach on average about 35 to 40 degrees centigrade. There is so much to do and see in Cyprus, I do not know where to start. If you are looking for nightclubs and action, there is of course Ayia Napa which is growing in popularity every year and is rivalling Ibiza as europe's number one clubbbing scene. If you want a quiet, relaxing holiday, areas such as Larnaca, Paphos and Limmssol are ideal. The island is blessed with beautiful, clean beaches and many have been awarded blue flags and have trained lifegaurd aswell. ...Monarch seats are appalling. They squeeze in extra rows and then try to charge ludicrous extra charges for extra legroom, but this doesn't solve the very narrow width. It's impossible to move your arms without disturbing your neighbour and god help you ( and them) if they are a little over weight. It's an airline for midgets! The aircraft are well worn, everything is charged at top prices, there's an air of grubbiness. Having flown with them to Goa and Egypt I don't know why we gave them a second chance - I suppose it was because it was part of the package. Next time I'd prefer to pay more for a tour company that uses another airline. Add on Monarchs extra charges and it would probably be cheaper anyway!... Read review

...Out of all the charter airlines I have flown with, I can defiantly say that Air 2000 is the best – especially in quality of service. Primarily flying to European holiday hotspots, Air 2000 operate from a range of UK airports, and as well as the aircraft, they also operate exclusive airport services – such as dedicated check-in. On board the aircraft the facilities are second to none, with seat back TVs, and an excellent in-flight magazine. But what really brings Air 2000 out on top is their food. It is almost of a restaurant quality, and I just hope they launch a range of ready meals in supermarkets! Where delays are concerned, Air 2000 fall about mid-way between good and satisfactory – although many delays depend upon weather and airport conditions as well as the individual airline. Advantages: Reasonable prices, sensible flight times.
Disadvantages: None.

...We have flown with Air 2000 3 times and have never had any problems. Its very convenient for us as they fly from Stansted with very sensilbe flight times. The food and service has always been good. We always check in early and were able to have seats next to the emergency exit on both journeys last year ( loads of legroom & no extra cost ). It's always worth asking if they are available if like me you have long legs. We have booked again for this year with flight times of 1.15pm (outward) & 17.15pm (inward), couldn't be better. I have found it cheaper to book through online agents rather than direct with Air 2000. We have never had any problems with delayed flights and I'm sure I've read somewhere that Air 2000 came out on top of a list of reliable airlines.... Read review
