Advantages: So close that you can almost feel the breeze as the planes come in to land
Disadvantages: It's more expensive than the more distant airport hotels

...taking a stroll outside my room. I also recalled that against all the odds given its proximity to the airport that the hotel was remarkably quiet. With people arriving from different cities on different flights, we agreed that we'd all aim to meet in the hotel lobby at 11 am on the Monday morning. Arriving at the airport I walked straight out of the arrivals area and saw the sign for the Sheraton on the ground floor of the car park. There's a lift that takes you up to the top floor where it opens onto the hotel lobby. I wanted to send a couple of emails before we left for Cologne so I asked the receptionist for help. Unfortunately the guy on reception told me that he couldn't give me a code for the Wi-Fi service unless I was checked in and he couldn't check me in because the rooms weren't ready. ...The Glasgow Swallow is a well equipped comfortable and friendly Hotel, located a short distance outside the city centre but in an area with some of Glasgow's best attractions. It is an excellent choice for families and great value for money. I have been to the Swallow in Glasgow with my family many times. From the outside the hotel is quite unimpressive, inside is a different story. It is well decorated and well laid out. As you walk in the door you have a reception desk in front of you, the dining room, bar and lounge to the left and lift, stairs to rooms and ballroom to the right. The main entrance has a small fountain, disabled access and is under an overhead walkway. ...OVERVIEW: I recently returned from a week long trip to Cornwall. To breakdown the amount of continuous driving that I would have to do we decided to stop overnight in Devon on the way back. The Buckland Tout Saints Hotel is situated in Goveton in the heart of the south Devon countryside, two miles from Kingsbridge. The hotel itself is a sixteenth century manor house, containing sixteen bedrooms. The original building is over 300 years old, but the hotel and rooms have been modernised several times and the décor is sensational. It is set in 4.5 acres of grounds and is said to be one of the top 200 hotels in Britain. We booked the hotel through lastminute.com and believed it to be a three star hotel, we were therefore very surprised upon arrival to have the main doors opened for us and our cases sent straight up to our room.
